    99 cobra engine noise

It's hard to say without knowing exactly where the noise is coming from. Run the engine with the hood up and see if you can pinpoint it. It might be something as simple as a bearing going out in one of your accessories (e.g. the power steering pump). If you still can't locate it with the hood...

    Big Bore Dyno Results inside

Sweet! Those are the highest NA numbers I've seen anyone post for a mod motor. What are you going to do with it next?

3.73 Gear Ratio for '03 Cobra????

Yeah, it's trivial. If you're curious, I have a CGI script up at http://www.svtoa-atlanta.org/cgi-bin/trans.cgi That shows the exact difference between two tranny/gear combos.

    Eliminating Wheel hop

If you're near North Carolina, one of our local SVTOA members knows a guy who'll swap out your IRS for a solid axle for free in exchange for the IRS. Here's a link to the thread: http://www.svtoa-atlanta.org/phpBB2/upload/showthread.php?s=&threadid=989 I seriously considered the swap, but I...

    T56 install in a 97 Cobra

T56 + 4.30 won't be much different than T45 + 3.27 off the line. The T56 has a much taller first gear. The final drive ratio for T56 + 4.30 1st gear is only 3% higher than T45 + 3.27 1st gear. The steep rearend won't really kick you in the pants until you hit 2nd.

    T56 install in a 97 Cobra

I've been researching this a bit for my 99. D & D Performance (http://www.ddperformance.com/) sells T56's and conversion kits. You'll need an adaptor for the cross member and a shorter driveshaft. You'll also want to swap out your rear end gears, as the T56 is quite a bit taller than the T45...

    More "oomph" with Trac off??

I stand corrected! Or at any rate, I sit corrected. :)

    More "oomph" with Trac off??

The system is actually passive. It doesn't engage the brakes. As much as my Camaro-driving friends hate Chevy's active system, I don't think that's a bad thing though. :)

    a few questions...

I love my MAC prochamber. I picked up 17 RWHP with it, and the sound is just amazing.

    Problems Starting.....Update

There's an intertia switch on the rear driver's side of the trunk. It's designed to cut off fuel in the event of an impact. If it's been set off, the red button will be popped out. Push it back in to restart the pump.

what size gear for a 99 Cobra

Did you get your t56 before or after the super charger? I'm considering the viper t56 + 4.30's for my N/A 99. 1st gear will barely be stronger than the current t45 + 3.27, but 2nd and 3rd should be wicked, and the .5:1 6th gear will put my highway cruising rpm's a tad lower than 5th gear on...

    Will this make the 13's

Differences between 1999 and 2001 cobra....

    - the 99 has a different rear wing - the 99 bumper says "MUSTANG" and not "COBRA" - the 01 has smoked head lights - the 01 has MUCH better seats - the center consoles are different

    Will this make the 13's

If you're wrapping out third before the traps, you already have gears (probably 4:10's). The best bang for your buck in terms of power will be an H or X pipe and catback. Sticky tires are what you really need in order to lower your ETs though.

    I hate my Stang!!!

My vert developed a really irritating rattle after Ford replaced my top. The problem turned out to be a loose bolt in the roof mechanism under the speaker pod. A wrench and some lock tite fixed it right up.

    Hanging RPM's

With the throttle closed, air enters the engine through the idle air control valve on the back of the throttle body. The problem could be the IACV or the systems that control it. Here are some guesses: 1) Mechanical failure in the IACV. The IACV usually goes out around 50k miles and fails...

    Best bolt-ons for LOW-END power on a 4v

None of my bolt-ons thus far have sacrificed power at any rpm. The C&L MAF is the only mod I've installed that hasn't boosted performance over the entire range (it increased power up to 6000 RPMS, where it broke even with the stock MAF). My biggest gain has been the MAC prochamber, followed by...

No Cats - Check Engine Light - Help

Yep, the MIL eliminators will almost certainly clear up the problem. I put on a set with my prochamber and haven't had any problems with the check engine light. I also passed my emissions test with no trouble since it's just a computer check for OBDII cars. I'm not sure if the 97 is OBDII or...

Please advise: considering 99 Cobra buy. Please look->

Go for it. That's a hell of a lot of miles for a 4 year old car, but you can't beat the price, especially considering all the mods. Sounds like it's been well cared for, and most of the really expensive mods are already on the car.

    Anyone running No2 on 99/01 Cobra's?

275/40's will fit your rims and won't throw your speedo off. They have almost exactly the same diameter as the stock 245/45's. Here's a thread with some pictures: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=322313
