    Another way to tell is to drive with the windows down, cruise at 1500 RPM in 4th gear, then mash the gas. If it's leaking, you'll hear it.

    Yes, engine off, in first gear, 'gently' pull clutch up until it stops, then push it down. You will hear a click when it adjusts.

    Do this with the tranny in first gear (engine off of course). I think the manual says to do this every 5000 miles. If you are hard on your clutch, maybe more often.

    The RPM hang is normal, it's for better emissions. Forget the CAI for now, not much to be had there. Get an upper plenum (Accufab, C&L, Dragon) to go with the throttle body to see some gains.

    I thought that to clear a code, the car has to be driven at least 3 times for like 15 minutes or more each time, with cool down time between each run? Or something like that.

    It may not be hot enough to melt it, but it will probably get discolored soon. The instructions that came with the Magnaflow catback said to leave 1/2" clearance to avoid damage or possible fire.

    Is a catback worthwhile?

    A quarter of an inch doesn't sound like much, but the cross section area of a 2.25" inch pipe is about 4 square inches, and the cross section of a 2.5" pipe is about 4.9 square inches. Thats about 23% more area for the exhaust to flow through, so I say its worth it.

    Stock cat back pipe is 2.25" and it sure doesn't look mandrel bent to me. You can see where the pipe restricts in the bends. Most after market cat back systems are 2.5" and mandrel bent (well, not sure about most, I'm sure about my Magnaflow). You can see the difference, pipe doesn't shrink...

    Mine doesn't look too bad to me. Seems to have bunched up in the right way, you can tell theres a bit too much boot, but looks OK.

    If you replaced your stock H pipe read this

    Shouldn't be a problem to drive without the mils. There is no performance impact if the check engine light is on because of no cats. But if something else is tripping the check engine light in addition, you wouldn't know unless you pulled the codes.
