tech/mental help needed: i believe i just cant continue with this any longer

used the motorsport gaskets that are recommended (not 1250s) with the gt40x heads. torqued to factory specs of 25-30 ft lbs using the ford technicians sequence. i also torqued in two steps 15 then 25-30 ft lbs. yes i went back and retorqued them once after intalling this last time. yes the head...

Carb Recommendation for mild street buildup 5.0

since the E303 cams curve stops around 5500 RPM i wouldn't go with anything more than 625cfm. somewhere around 615 would probably be best. the 675 def is way to much for the combo i think. i prefer the edelbrocks, cause they come out of the box pretty well set up and are easier IMO to tune and...

    balancer, flexplate, and converter alignment

i just noticed a lot of q's popping up about the engine balance recently and it kind of made me wonder if it was possible to bolt up the flexplate and converter out of sequence with the balancer? since my build i haven't noticed any bad vibrations from my engine or anything besides the idle of...

High Pitched Noise from Upper Intake Manifold

it should not have vacuum at idle, or at least very little. you should definitely take it off and vacuum check it to see if the diaphram is bad. if the egr valve won't hod a constant vac. replace it.

Swap to beefier 5-speed, or up to a 6-speed?

87 GT your car should already have a world class T5 in it.

High Pitched Noise from Upper Intake Manifold

just so you know, the egr has is not supposed to have any effect at idle. code 33 is egr valve opening not detected. check the vacuum line like hissin suggested first. if this isn't the problem then it could be a bad sensor, corrosion in the connection of the sensor, or simply the egr valve is...

my typhoon vs a GT40 intake

people are sad when they say, "who cares that i payed $200 less and had to clean it up and fix it up myself to make it right. besides, isn't that what cheap labor is all about, getting a piece of crap that just doesn't cut it?" you have no pride and you might as well be a ricer. thanks, but...

*VIDEO* Vacuum Leak Sound from Upper Manifold?

well i found it alright, and it was just the throttle body whistling, not an actual vaccum leak. assuming all your vac connections are all ok, and i'm sure you've checked them a million times now, i'm thinking you should investigate the TB and IAC. in the video it sounded like the noise started...
