Did anyone watch the discovery channel on 9/29 on racing the '05??

Man, it sucks to be in a dorm with no tv because I can't see stuff like this. :( Merc331, you'd enjoy the scene down here. The engineering dept. recently crashed their Z06 GPS project car (where it drives itself via GPS) because someone turned the front crash sensors off (which sense if there...

Looking for 99-03 IRS. Trade for 8.8, Rear control arms and $

Oh, and if you want to help your IRS feel better on the launches and short of going all out with coilovers and tubular pieces, etc, just put some delrin bushings in it. That'll probably make a world of difference. I drove a neighbors Cobra before and after he had it done and it was a pretty...

Looking for 99-03 IRS. Trade for 8.8, Rear control arms and $

Eh, even with an IRS you can get it to not have nearly so much wheel hop. It won't be perfect, but even on an Aston Martin with a properly designed IRS you'll still get some. Are you sure yours is properly set up? It shouldn't be an issue with a basically stock GT. But why is it such a big...

Carb Connection Dyno Day Oct 9th.

I'd do it, if I could be there (and if my car was finished). I'll have mine on the dyno hopefully end of december/beginning of january before I leave for college again. Useless-power-dyno-runs-for-the-sake-of-tuning, here we come!

Looking for 99-03 IRS. Trade for 8.8, Rear control arms and $

Yep, definitely go for the '03 setup if you plan to run power. Unlike what Tarch said, it does usually cost more because it is a stronger setup. No reason, though, why you couldn't buy a 99-01 setup and bring it up to '03 spec with aftermarket axles (especially for super high horse) and one of...

    McLeod clutch or Centerforce

IMO, Centerforce = nono. Get a McLeod or Spec or something of that nature.

Saleen Heat Extractor hood on its way... pics.

While I would agree with you about take off parts versus brand new parts SOMETIMES, I would say it'll be tough to find a take off saleen hood! Saleens fitment was never the big issue with their body work stuff. It was always the finish of the pieces required a lot of sanding and smoothing...

what do you think about Turbo's on 4.6L?

Thats what I'm doing with mine. Turbo's are awesome. I like positive displacement blowers and turbos, but I like turbos better to make good power they require less boost, less stress on the engine, really mild cams, etc etc. The heat is the biggest issue. Any boost is good boost on a modular 2V...

6 speed in a automatic??? How hard anyone do it?

Even an automatic installed would be more than that, and it still won't be fun. If you want a manual but don't want to pay so much, don't buy the most expensive transmission that requires the most labor to install. Just buy a T45 or t3650 (or even a T5) and just drive it until it breaks, then...

    Best Syn Oil ?

Anyone with an 01+ upgraded clutch please come in asap

All 4Vs are 8 bolt cranks. All Romeo built 2V's (post '01) are 8 bolt. All '99-'01 Windsor 2Vs are 6 bolt. I don't remember what the '96-'98s are, but I think the 2Vs are 6 bolt as well. Did you order the wrong one? If you bought a t-3650 with a flywheel or something, it won't match up...

    No more Mustang for me!!!

No, the 5.0L bored out version of the DOHC are all very expensive, regardless of where you get them from because the machining required to fit 3.700 bore sleeves is REALLY extensive. You basically remove the entire cylinder bore area from side to side and put in big siamese sided sleeves. Not...

Removing Trunklid Badge (need a couple of pointers)

Do NOT use a screwdriver!!!! It'll mess up your paint and leave dents if you try and pry with it, even with a cloth! Like others said, heat it up, use dental floss or round fishing wire, then it'll basically fall off.

    No more Mustang for me!!!

Uh, go with a '99 and up engine. The '01 cobra would be an easy swap if you bought the crate engine. Getting a pre-'99 engine requires a LOT more work than you know, especially the pre-'96 5.0L models (which are the same as the 347s you want). There is a lot of different stuff in the setup...

    Hell Yeah! Ticket 6!!!

Dude, just go to court and fight it. Duh. If its something minor like that, it's your fault for not seeing if they'll take the money off and the ticket off your driving record. I'm guessing that in six tickets you've never tried. Technically, it IS your fault for not checking the tail light...

    Driveway spring installs suck...

I don't know...I've never had any problems like these putting springs in, and I've done a couple cars. Guess they've just been pretty easy. The strut nuts you can get off with a breaker bar. You shouldn't need an impact gun...if you can get the wheel hub nut off at 250 ft-lbs, you should be...

Oh yeah, and almost any automotive store will have a clutch alignment tool that will work. Cheap, too.

    03 cobra vs fr500 debate

So for a 5.4L N/A engine, which would you guys think would be the best? FR500 ported/polished, cobra/mach ported/polished, or navigator ported/polished? Whichever I get I'm going to send to Fox Lake for a full p/p job. It'll have radical cams, to be used in street/road racing, and I'm going to...

    03 cobra vs fr500 debate

According to Sean Hyland, the stock '03 heads flowed a couple more cfm at higher lift, and a tiny bit less at lower lift than the FR500. I'm actually in the same situation, and that's all I've found comparatively. I know the valvetrain in the FR500 is vastly superior! Aren't the Mach1/'03...
