whats the lightest prdouction Mustang ever made?

Nice to have comparison weight, Sad.. Mine was 720/600kg (1320kg, ->2910 lbs) With toploader, 8" and 70 lbs of dampening stuff to make it a bit quieter...

ford 8 inch? is the power ratting max at 300hp?

I agree with MaxPower. I´ve heard people running 8" behind 400 hp engines. I broke mine with relatively mild 351... Yes, I was abusing it. I really can´t tell which broke first, the driveshaft, u-joints or differential housing... But I´m putting it back together, as soon as I get home from...

    fellow stanger ripped off

Did you read the other post here, where Tom´s ex friend opened up? Or the guy whose t45 transmission wasn´t newer rebuilt? Whoa.. Burn it down I say... There was a shop and wrecking yard.....

yep. Your correct on that one. It is less than an inch.

    Lowering the stang

I´d prefer A-arm mod over cutting the 620-allreadytuffenouf-springs. 1" drop will drop your front allmost an inch... 1" block looks nice to me in back with 5-leaf´s

BAAAAD tire rubbing problem on my '66

I had some rub problems with my frontend. I was running 225-60/15 with 7" wheel with 3,5"BS. I got rid of the problem by changing the wheel to 225-50/15 (so that chamber curve mekes the wheel to evade the fender), and machined my wheels to 3,75"BS. I think you could use smaller diameter tire...

Shelby 1" drop vs 1 3/4" negative wedge drop

I was thinking of doing the same to my upper arms, but didn´t feel comfortable welding a vertical seam to the arm, if you know what I mean. I had same kind of aluminum wedges made in machine shop, as they sell as a kit. Which was a bit cheaper...

What cars can I get a 9 inch rear from

Starter issue: If you use -65 motor mounts with -66 stuff, the engine sits 1" lower than original. This is what I have, and I can tell you that starter and oilpan (had to dent it a little) are allmost touching my centerlink... I would say centerlink is part of suspension?

What to do: Keep car from gettin stolen.

Normally I have a main switch under dash, where my starter solenoid is too. It´s an 500 amps industrial type, and with special key... Right now I´m in South-America, 10000 km from my car, but I´m not afraid of my car being stolen. Just before coming here I blew up my 8" and driveshaft... Of...

    Engine Rebuild

This is an interesting topic... We all have been there: Thinking whats the most fun for the money... What I currently have is pretty mild 351 in front of Toploader, which I like (although it lacks the 5th;( ) I have 3.00 gears on my 8 ". Currently I have perf. 600 cfm, perf intake, -69...

Power Steering and GT-40 head questions

i thought of same kind of swap with my 351, with 69 heads. They had a sale on GT-40Y aluminum pieces here, but decided to stick with the ones I have until I have money to get some AFR 165´s or 185´s ... The difference really isn´t worth the swap, even on paper... Of course if you wan´t an...

    GT 40 vs performer

Somebody in this forum wrote that y303 is basicly same as edelbrocks older performer? I really don´t know this as a fact. It is really hard to tell the difference, if both are aluminum and don´t have to think of weight difference... At least here y303 GT40 heads are much cheaper than edelbrocks...

    '66 Wheel/tire fitment

I got one´s (15x7) with backspacing of 3,5" ,and took them to shop to be milled 4 mm of the center to add more back spacing. Now they are perfect. I was thinking for a while about them being strong enough, but they were rated 1300 lbs each, so I think they´ll b fine. We´ll see.

What is considered a good camber gain for a performance street suspension?

I don´t think there can be a single"best" value. It depends on so many values, like tires (profile, width), height of the car (rotating center etc.) and pretty many other things. I´ve done a drop of 1 7/8" for my A-arms. I have 351w, 620lbs springs, 225-50/15 tires. By these changes I´ve...

put my new 9" in but....problems

Yep, a good one. While my rear exploded, it pushed toploader and engine a little forward, but it was enough for fan to hit radiatopr.
