Need help - my tach goes up and down at highway speeds - why?

Do you know if it has a lockup torque converter? That could explain what is happening. Does the car feel any different when this happens? How long has this been going on?

Having issues with the car, can't figure it out. please help.

Hmmm The car would die if it had below 20* timing.... What kind of shape is the harmonic balancer in? Are you sure the timing is accurate? The balancer may have slipped. 20* is way too much. How are you setting timing, just to be sure? Also, o2 sensors are not too expensive, better to be...

    Tires(ABS Malfunction on a 1994

The 295's are about 26.1", while the 265's are 25.3". I don't recall the stock tire size, but I hope this helps.

Calling all 5.0 experts. Need some help.

In your sig it states EFI, but do you run mass air, or speed density? It looks like you may have a bad map sensor, and a clogged egr valve.

Having issues with the car, can't figure it out. please help.

Hmmm You might want to look at the plugs and o2 sensors like you said. This might help diagnose the problem. Did anything happen before the car started behaving bad? Also, the MAF sensor could be dirty. Not likely, but still possible. Not sure what else to look at.

    favorite clutch?

Also, SPEC makes a hybrid disc, like if you want the holding power of the stage 3 but want less on/off operation, you can get a 2/3 hybrid disc. That is what I run. It has a stage 2 kevlar surface on the flywheel side, and the stage 3 pucks on the pressure plate side. Very cool. Grabs like mad...

    Estimated HP from this setup

Maybe about 300 at the wheels. I used performace trends engine analyzer and got 330hp and 320 trq. But this program was also a bit low for my truck, but showed the curves perfectly. So I'm guessing it estimates a bit low. I dynoed 225 at the wheels, and the program estimates 250hp, but at the...

    Mass air question

Should enter limp mode, and run rich. Might not notice much of a change at idle.

    quiet, yet mean mufflers?!?

I like my Hooker MAXFlows. They have a nice low idle, which at times can be very deep, but are not loud. But once the foot hits the floor, they really open up! They are very loud at WOT, but docile during every day driving. They will have a rasp to them as they break in, but I love them. Oh...

If I don't figure this out I'll burn my car to the ground

Virtually none. How much are we talking about? If it is more than a few degrees, you may have a problem. By the way, when my timing chain went, it took the valves, pushrods, and main bearings out with it. I didn't find out about the mains until I had the heads fixed, and I had no oil pressure.

If I don't figure this out I'll burn my car to the ground

Well, start turning the crank. It should let you know how the timing chain is holding up. The other thing I forgot about earlier, is to check the teeth on the cam. This may be a bit hard to do. You may have to have a friend crank while you check with a light.

If I don't figure this out I'll burn my car to the ground

BURN BABY BURN! No no, I was only kidding. First start by taking out the distributer and seeing what kind of shape the teeth are in. If it seems ok after that, I would take a large wrench to the crank. With the distributer back in, but the cap removeed so you can see the rotor, turn the...

engine swap into? volvo? mazda? more????

5.0 in a Ranger right here! I wanted to put one in an Integra just to piss off the Ricers, but decided money was better spent elsewhere. Plus, I have no money. My truck eats it all.

How to remove Hall/PIP sensor? Need help ASAP.

Never done it myself, but I think you have to remove the gear, then slide the distributer shaft out to reach the PIP sensor.

witch braided hose for mecanical fuel pressure gauge?

I would check to see what material the line is made of. It needs to be able to resist the additives they now put in gasoline. But most likely it should be ok as long as you can adapt the fittings. Oh, also, the line may be a bit small as far as the inside diameter is concerned. You may not get...

    After maket fuel rails problem

You can get an adapter from the stock hardlines to an -8AN fitting from Summit. That way you don't have to run new hard lines, just the lines in the engine bay. Summit part numbers: RUS-640870 - return line fitting RUS-640880 - feed line fitting
