Why buy GT500 over Saleen PJ?????????

True....I am not much of a road racer, so I generally speak of straight line, whic is what I was referring to....sorry for the confusion. I love your car though.

Should i get a Cobra or not(96-98)Long Read

no problem. not really....these 4v's love to rev and anything under 390's aren't too good. 390 is pushing it.

why are open headers bad for our cars

backpressure creates a vacuum....and wha tI have heard about open headers allow heat to travel back into the ports which can ruin the valves...now whether or not that is true, I don't know....but it's better than chancing it.

Should i get a Cobra or not(96-98)Long Read

Get the cobra. Better car all around and NOS is just too violent IMO for a power adder. The 450# you see is a tough one...450 is pushing the limits of the stock 96-98 internals. I would bet you could safely see 415-430. Here is what I would do... full exhaust SCT 390's or 410's...

I found that the stock H-pipe makes more tq....more backpressure.

That sounds right with the boost....13.5. And you will see a spike with the initial hit, but as with all heatons, it bleeds off. Almost always you will be above 12 at the start of the pull and drop off with the rpm. An ideal curve will drop to about 11.9 and stay pretty much on that line...

I gained 2 rwhp with them. They are pointless for cars under 600 rwhp....maybe 5-10 hp max. My buddy gained almost 30 with his KB. Which is why I did the headers....for future mods. And yes they are a pain to install. 11.5 is rich. I bet if you take it up to 11.8-11.9, you will see...

Why buy GT500 over Saleen PJ?????????

Just because the PJ has 400 n/a ponies makes no difference. For less tham 2K, you can make that GT500 run circles around the PJ.

LOL....yeah, I meant boost bypass. If it said bypassed, then it was probably done with the tune. Doing it manually then serves no purpose. When I went ported, I was 464/480 prior and 491/477 after, but I don't have a lower, so I lost a few ft lb.

stay below 12.0...above is risking it. Your power is good, but your torque is low because you aren't utilizing the torque by not having a lower....plus, do you have your torque bypass disabled? And .30 is way too tight...I would do .32-.35 max.

    Weird bucking at low RPM

Ok...not sure what it is, but I am hoping other people have experienced it. 03 Cobra....at low RPM's (1500-2200) under normal driving at sustained speed my car bucks at a evenly paced pulsing, but not violend fasion. Almost like I am driging down a road with waves in it. I would say it is...

    I've got a ticking sound?

do you have youe emissions bypassed? There is a bung on the top od the header that may have fallen off/ broken....that is what happened to my 98.

    Cold Air Intake Recomendations

+1, but I would add that the CAI looks cleaner and provides a better air charge.... The RAI will feed more engine air (hot) versus the cooler charge from the fender. But, as a customer of JLT, the CAI is a P.I.A. to install.

    Wheel? for the board

99+ no prob, you might need a small spacer and grind the IRS bolt.... 96-98, you will need modifications because the wheel well is too narrow.
