Which is Better 331 or 347

I built a 331 based engine for the fact of no pin in the oil rings, less piston rock in the bottom of the bores. Less piston speed. With a 3.250" stroke the piston doesn't come out the bottom of the bore as far as a 3.400" stroke. This is my opinion. I'm sure someone else will have a different...

    331 or 347?

The difference in the two engines is the crankshaft stroke. 331 has a 3.250" stroke and the 347 has a 3.400" stroke. They can both use either the 5.315" or the 5.400" rods provided the have the proper piston compression heights.

    High RPM Vibrations

There are many things that can cause vibrations. Pinion angle, U-joints,Clutch, Bent driveshaft, Engine+tranny mounts, bad pocket bearing in tranny (Bearing on front of mainshaft going into back of input shaft). Pilot bearing, unbalanced wheels. Etc. Is the vibration at 80 m.p.h. real bad? Does...

Question about the T-5's tail shaft bushing

Transmission shops can change out the bushing very easily. For minimal charge. They have a tool that self threads itself into the bushing and then they slidehammer it out. Then they pound in the new bushing with a guide tool. It is a pretty straight forward job. They can do it on a lift in a 1/2...

Looking for Mustang Club in Plymouth County MA

There used to be a club on the cape. It was called the Mustang Car Club Of Cape Cod. I don't know if it even exists anymore. That's the only one I knew of in Southeastern, MA.

Who has a similar setup and what are you putting down??

Just because you need emissions & use an emmissions legal cam doesn't mean it will pass. The cam is all wrong for that set-up. I made 390 H.P./362 TQ. from a 337 stroker recently with a 4 bbl carb. And a dual plane intake. It doesn't pass emissions but it sure runs good. Talk to one of the cam...

    Thinking of selling

Any car can be a money pit! If you have a place to keep it,Take it off the road & Park it for 5 years. Buy something newer and have fun. Buy a beater econo box and drive that daily for the mileage reasons. I drive a P.T. Cruiser for my daily beat ride. It is not my first choice but it gets me...

    Well... she's painted....

The car looks real good! I've seen some amazing paint jobs come out of Maaco paint shops. All the good ones i've seen the owners of the cars prepped the bodies themselves. They stripped off all of the trim and gutted the interiors. Then they did their own bodywork. Then they had Maaco squirt...

These are N/A Numbers. Just a single 4v carb set-up. The block is bored .060 over hence the 336 #. Looking to go 11.50's...

    Front Fenders--80-90 and 91-93 or 87-90 and 91-93

Yes there the same from 80-90. In 91 Ford put 16" rims on the Mustangs and they needed bigger wheel openings. Some of the 80-90 fenders were not drilled for the fender extensions.

What compression are these pistons (pic)

Pistons are L2249NF They made these in std.+.030. Bore sizes only. They have a 1.600 Compression Height and a .440 dome. The listed compression Ratio is anywhere from 9.91- 12.85 depending on the cylinder head c.c. (chamber size). With a stock 60 c.c. Head (69-70 351-w) the compression ratio is...
