What compression are these pistons (pic)

They look like the old TRW's to me! If they have a .440 dome there probably TRW Forged. If they have a .200 dome then there probably Keith Black Hyperutectic. If they are the K.B. pistons then You'll have high 9's-low 10's on the compression ratio with a 60c.c. head, uncut block and around a...

Has anyone had problems with camshaft endplay???

For some reason I can't understand Trick Flow using allen bolts to hold on the thrustplate. Then telling you to countersink them. The stock thrustplate is very thin and by countersinking them you take the meat out of it. I'm Not familiar with the Trickflow stuff so you'll have to forgive me. I...

Has anyone had problems with camshaft endplay???

Why would you countersink the screws in the Thrustplate? The screws clear the cam sprocket. The cam sprocket is off set. Did you install the cam sprocket backwards? If so this will move the chain forward. The bottom crank sprocket will slide forward too as this sprocket is a slip fit not a press...

Need help on problem.. Oil pump or cam bearing

The pump is fine. If you hit the gas and the pressure increases the pump is working. I'd say pull the main caps down and look at the bearings. Bet you'll find them down to the copper.

    new motor problems...

Take a compression test to verify engine integrity. If the compression is good then it is a timing issue or carb issue. If not then one or some of the valves could not be seating. With the E-cam the firing order used is the H.O. 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.

    Question about my stroker motor...

The difference will be the oil slinger on the back of the crank. If it doesn't have one it will fit either block early and late. If it does have one it will only fit the early 2 piece seal blocks. I took a 289 crank and cut the slinger off and put it in a roller block and made a 289 roller motor...

    whats the best heater core

I've replaced three heater cores in my 85 and two in my 90. The generic auto parts store heater cores suck! The factory heater core water outlets are soldered together where the elbows touch. The generic ones are not soldered there. Everytime one of my generic heater cores leaked it was from the...

Rattling Noise Occurs @ 50%+ Throttle

I hope you didn't pay the dealership for the work that was done! They couldn't even tell you where they put the timing at? I'd buy a light and check it myself. Sounds like detonation to me! especially with 87 octane.

    Installation of MAC Longtubes???

What size tubes are they. My brothers Mac 1 3/4" longtubes have the steering shaft go right through the primarys. After it was all said and done he ended up getting the Flaming river steering shaft kit to make it all work. His rag joint was hitting the header tube. It was easier to replace the...

Why is the LS1 so much better than a 351W?

The LS-1 Heads are state of the art. The flow figures alone are pretty good. I have a friend that has a 02 Camaro with a stroker LS-1. 427 cube smallblock. It has 500 h.p. at the rear tires N.A. He's gone 10.80's on E.T. Streets. If you saw the car. It looks like any other Camaro Driving down...

Engine dyno'd today tri-y's choking it by 28hp

You guys might want to look into MAC headers. Mac makes a complete set-up for the early 64-66 cars. I used a set of 1 5/8" long tubes on a car I built 6 years ago. They fit like a glove and use the stock motor mounts. The car I built also had a T-5 transmission installed in it. They fit around...
