    Engine 28oz vs 50oz imbalance

Most aftermarket rotating assemblies are 28oz imbalance. I'm not sure why they would choose 28 over the 50 though, I thought that the 50 oz imbalance made the motor run a little smoother.

Made my own T5 shift stick

That's awesome! I only wish I could make something that cool. I made mine out of a snapper lawnmower shifter. Cut it, bent it, welded on a bolt for a hurst shift ball and painted it the same color as my car. It was supposed to be a temporary shifter until I get a good hurst stick but I've had...

    Mild 302 Build

As it turns out I have a T-5 with a 3.35 first gear and .68 5th. After doing some calculations I'm still going to go with the 3.55 gears, if I don't like them I can always get some 3.80s. For a cam I think I have decided on this cam . Its the 270HR cam designed for HO replacement and it has...

    Mild 302 Build

Thanks for the help guys and advice guys, I really appreciate it. Clement- I too prefer the 351/Ho firing order, I was originally looking for type of cam but nothing was listed for a 5.0/302. So I can assume that a 351 cam will fit in the motor? It also states in the info on the cam you...

    Mild 302 Build

I think I found a cam, or at least I've narrowed it down. 270HR 280HR Before I do this engine swap I'm going to be putting 3.55 gears in so I'm not sure if I want to get the 270HR or the 280HR. The 270HR says its a good HO replacement, and the 280HR. I'm not set on a COMP cam but I'm just...

    Expired 302 Heads

Looking for a good pair of heads for a 302. Some GT-40s or 40Ps or a decent aftermarket head would be nice. Ported/polished heads are also acceptable Not really much to trade unless someone wants some original parts from a 1992 f-150 5.0 motor. [email protected] Thanks, Ranger

    Mild 302 Build

Thanks for the advice rbohm. What I'm looking to do is build a 300 hp 302 for daily driving, my mustang is essentially my daily driver. I have a lot of things figured out, its just all in my head, when you said arp bolts I was thinking well of course ;). For the most part this motor will...

    Mild 302 Build

I need some help with a 302 build and figured I would pick your brains on some things. A guy that comes into where I work gave me a 1992 302 long block (roller block). It has 180,xxx miles and needs a rebuild. I would like to do a mild build on this motor: decent heads, cam, intake, headers...

Engine What is this vacuum gauge telling me about my engine?

Had a similar problem on my 289, turned out to be a combination of vacuum leaks, bad carb tuning, timing, and intake manifold leaking. Get some carb cleaner and spray it on the area between the heads and the intake, if you hear a change in motor RPM then that's your problem.

    Mild 302 Build

Hello fellow forum members, My name is Clayton Moore but my nickname is Ranger. I need some help with a 302 build and figured I would pick your brains on some things. A guy that comes into where I work gave me a 1992 302 long block (roller block). It has 180,xxx miles and needs a rebuild. I...

    Replacing Rocker Arm Stud 289

Somehow, one the #2 cylinder intake rocker got extremely loose and got sideways. In the process it managed to bend a pushrod and mess up a lifter. The worst part is that the rocker cut gouges in the rocker arm stud so when the rocker is adjusted it still has a lot of side to side play. I want to...

    Ac Fast Idle Solenoid?

Go to a junkyard, I was able to find two solenoids off of 2 70s-80s Dodge 360 motors in trucks. Both of them worked, I paid like $20 for the pair. All I have to do now is make a simple bracket to mount to the carburetor.

    Ford 8" Rebuild

My differential has a ton of play in the driveshaft and its time for a rebuild. Does anyone know how or know of a good place that can rebuild the differential in the Houston area? I'd be up for rebuilding it myself if I knew how or had a good guide to go by. Thanks, Ranger

C4 To T5 Trans Swap - Old Slip Yoke Doesn't Want To Fit?...

If I remember right the C4 yoke is much longer than the yoke that is supposed to go on the T5. They may have the same splines but when you get on the road the driveshaft will push the C4 yoke too far into the T5. When I installed my T5 I got a yoke from a junkyard that was for the T5.

Ford 8" Gear Swap and Traction-loc

Thanks for the reply's guys I like this forums advice because most people have had experience with different setups. I'm definitely going to go with the Eaton Detroit truetrac however I'm still undecided on gears. I have 3 major choices, 3.25, 3.40, and 3.55. I mainly do city driving so I'm...

Ford 8" Gear Swap and Traction-loc

Hey guys, Well, I'm tired of my stock 2.79 gears with my T-5 I'm looking to change out the gears and put in some sort of limited slip. I'm looking for some advice on what gears to use (probably going to be 3.25 or 3.55) but what I really need help on is the limited slip/traction-loc device...

    I want a C4

Its a 6 bolt bellhousing. I assume that yours is a 5 bolt since you asked if mine was, I wonder if the bellhousing is the only difference between the 2? Then you could just find a 5 bolt bellhousing, and mount it up to the trans I have in my garage.
