    I just recieved the t5 he advertised, and the input shaft has about an inch of play and the bearing housing is broken up to the point you can't get the throwout bearing off. He tells me it worked fine LOL!!! People like this suck really leaves a bad taste ya know, I ended up giving him $480.00...

    Tremec 3550 questions?

    How different is the Tremec 3550 from a t5? I have the options to install a t-5 or a Tremec. The Tremec has 40k on it, the t5 has about 5k. I'm not sure, hopefully someone could inform me, are the clutches different? Gear ratios?, and what fluid would you use for the Tremec.

    A Grand Marquis is the same as a LTD. With a Grand Marquis, the added weight and work would make it not worth the while. A t-5 is a peice of crap anyways, and with the added weight, it wouldn't last very long. Sell the Grand Marquis or get a stall converter, gears, HO motor Transgo shift kit...

    distributo cap problem

    don't drill holes, are you changing the rotor when you change the cap? sounds like the rotor isn't in contact with the cap and causing it to be eaten up.

    Like the air intake. When you add boost, you remove the vacuum and add positive force.

    When a converter stalls at 24-2600 it is a stock converter without the internal bafle. If you want to go cheap, get one off e-bay. They are rebuilt with torrington bearings and furnaced brazed, perfect for you. Just put one in a buddy's car, and it works great. Only cost 150 bucks shipped. But...

    How are your brakes? Could have a bad brake hose or a seized caliper. Check it when you swap the front tires.

    I can assure you, yes. But when you do that, get a lentech valve body or a TRANSGO shift kit. With some 4.10's it'll be much better. You'll get rubber into 3rd.

    You have two problems. If it is grinding, then you need to replace the starter and check the teeth on the flywheel to make sure they're not too chewed up. As far as it dying at idle, could be anything, but I'm sure they aren't related to each other.
