    Do you have a multi meter and a test light? If the brown wire in question was hooked up to your alarm, it is most likely your parking light wire. test either end with your meter when turning park lights on/off. The 12v/accy/ign/start circuit if fairly simple....sounds like you may have other...

    When you say 'OE', is it the 91 older or 92 newer starter? Maybe you can post a pic of your starter solenoid so we can check your wiring there. If you said that the starter engages when you turn the key to 'run' and keeps spinning after the engine starts, then you must have it wired incorrectly...
