    The 200 is an I6, it replaced the 170. If you go with an I6 look into a 2bbl progressive carb along with your other ideas. It will add a little power plus help your milage. I beleive they all came with 3spds or autos, but a t5 can be mated behind them with an adaptor.

    A 170 has a four bearing bottom end and is not recomended more modding. A 7 bearing 200 is better suited and came out in 65. You can get 30+mpg out of them, but the mods requried will only net you about 150hp give or take. You can get up to about 250hp out of them with a LOT of modification...

    Its an I6 and its not wasting money. My I6 has fooled several seasoned mechanics when I took it to get it inspected into thinking it had a V8. A hot I6 turns more heads than a typical V8, its different.

    200's were used in Falcons, Mustangs, Mavericks, Comets, Fairlanes, probably a lot more and lasted from 1965-1983. The 200 came on the market in 65 and few changes were made until 1980 I believe when they went to a low mount starter (matchs v8 bolt patterns). The motors after 1980 won't work...

    If the v8 you're thinking about is a stock/mild 302 or something, I say just build up the six. A hot six is more of an eye catcher. I disagree with ease of maintanence of v8 over the six. Everything is within easy reach on the six, heck I change the oil from under the hood.

    I checked my book on the subject, but its a little unclear. The oil pan should aslo be that blue color also. According to it, the head and intake were bare metal, which explains the rust now.

    Yea wrong side, but you can make it work, I have a 289 radiator in my car with a 200. I think you'd be better off buying a 289 radiator though, probably be overheating if you don't.

    I've got a 400/c6 in my 77 F-250. I don't know what you have in your bronco or what year it is or anything really but I think it would be a good engine for a bronco. The price is right anyway.

    Yea, from what I've read, only in NC and VA. I've never seen one, thought it would be great to find one since I live in NC. They must have been very limited. Seems like I've seen the badge in a back issue of Mustangs and Fords.
