    If the h-pipe already has hi-flo cats you won't get much of a gain in sound. if they are original cats then you will get a noticeable gain in sound but probably not much performance. I would opt for leaving them be or getting hi-flo cats unless you know someone who is going to get you stickers...

    warranty questions

    Also check with the ford people before they make a warranty claim to ford. The indiviual dealers deal directly through Ford. If one dealership says they won't fix it, as long as they dont make a claim with Ford you could still go to a different Ford dealer and try your luck there.

    As far as I know from prior experience they can only void the warranty on parts tat are changed. For example you change the rear end gears they void the warranty on the rear not the rest of the car. Since your trans locked up as long as you haven't modified that in any way you should be fine...

    clunk noise

    I have a clunck to. What is your exhaust setup? I have dumps and I found that the sound is the mufflers banging against the driveshaft. I didn't here it as much until I got the aluminum. :rolleyes:

    Gas Prices!! and thankful to own a 2.3

    I like driving my little 98 escort zx2 now. Not fast but 35 mpg is great during these times. Now when I bust out the stang on weekends the $ 2.23 for premuim killed me this week. $ 28 to fill the tank. Ouch

    Driving a manual is jst fun. It does suck when your in traffic and I sit in it everyday but it's worth it when you get some open road :p . As far as the gas mileage if your worried about that, buy a Toyota Pruis and take your good old 11 secs to get to 60 mph. :flag:

    headers?

    Full Lenght aren't that bad to install. The driver side is really easy, the passenger side a little harder. From past experoence if you do get the ful lenght, when you take the starter out try not to drop any header bolts into the opening in the trans. They ARE VERY HARD TO GET OUT. ba
