steer me in the right direction (engines)

So, Would you recommend going with a stock HO short block if i can find one in good shape? It would probably save enough money to go a long ways towards some good heads, and they have forged pistons. Late Model Restoration also has a rebuilt 5.0 short block with forged pistons for $1200.

steer me in the right direction (engines)

I considered twin turbos for a little while, but then decided that i couldn't live with how the engine bay looked, and how crouded it would be, so if I go with boost it's going to be a supercharger. I found one guy on the net with a kenne bell in a '65, but he needed to run an ugly hood to make...

steer me in the right direction (engines)

well from what I've read on the turbo forums, plenty of people have cracked their blocks around 500-550 hp. The stud girdles don't do anything but keep the pieces together (which is good, but doesn't help strength). I don't know if "block prep" is really going to do anything to improve...

steer me in the right direction (engines)

I've been thinking about this all day. I'm starting to lean towards running a supercharger on a 5.0. I may not get the numbers I'm looking for initially, but it's something i can build in stages, and has the cool factory of being just a little different. start with an explorer 5.0 with the...

steer me in the right direction (engines)

If I went the 5.0 route I wouldn't stroke it. I don't see the point when the block is limited to 500 hp, and I can get 4 more cubes, a better rod ratio, and more block strength out of a 351. I will probably be running EFI with any engine. I would either be running a junk yard ford setup or...

parking brake cables for 8.8 disk rear

it might not be 100% apples to apples, but i used a lokar kit in my jeep to hook up to explorer 8.8 brakes. you can cut the cables to length and they come with enough hardware you could probably get it to work. you might have to weld (or bolt) in a little bracket that comes with them, but it...

OT- MIG Welder Do you have one? I need advice

I have an older 220v lincoln 155 with a gas conversion on it. it's a great welder but on the really thin stuff it runs a little too hot. for most of the stuff you'll find on a mustang a 110v would probably suit you best.

steer me in the right direction (engines)

Ok, well I've spent a few years away from my mustang, stretching and building my own suspension for my jeep for a school project But now I'm back. Currently I have a '65 convertible stripped down to a rolling chassis. It just needs a little more work and I'll have all of the rust issues...

    Is this a rusted cowl?

don't pour in too much water though, if the drains are a little clogged with pine needles it will over flow the vents and pour in the car, even if the cowl is fine.

16X8 with 4.5 backspacing. tires are 225x.50 1" shelby drop, 1" drop 620s, and 4.5 mid eye leafs. I'm thinking about cutting a little coil off once she's back together. and the most recent pic i have.

Anyone have a watts link ?

as i understand (which may be wrong) it, the roll center is controlled by the location of the center pivot on a watts. The fays2 (didn't bother to check the other one) has some adjustability for height. so it can still be adjusted after it's installed, it just looks like you have to unbolt the...

Thoughts on the new CPP front suspension?

honestly, i think it looks unnecessary, and i agree with the above poster(s) who said a good strut rod would take care of things. i'd prefer to either go full open tracker with the the spherical bearing LCA with heim jointed strut rod OR just go with a full bolt in coilover kit (tcp/RM/UP etc.)

    can I?

you can just unbolt your calipers from the bracket and keep them connected to the hydraulic lines. not a big issue.
