Blown head gasket - I think. Questions inside

Am I crazy to try to drive it to the shop like this? (Only about 1 mile)

Blown head gasket - I think. Questions inside

I filled up the radiator and water immediately started dumping out. I traced a trickle up to the back of the motor (so I doubt it's the timing cover gasket). Can't tell for sure where it's coming from. But I'm still hoping for a head or lower intake gasket blowout. If it's not those, then...

Blown head gasket - I think. Questions inside

If it doesn't sound like a blown head gasket, then what might you expect to see with a blown head gasket?

    Playboy ?

That's not butterface (Seanne and Brittany on that same page are more bag worthy). But she's clearly not gnaw ugly. And even if her face is her weakest asset, you'd still hit that. Admit it.

    306 dyno results

Not that it matters, but check Car & Driver's long term tests. They always pick up 2 tenths of a second or more in 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile after 40k to 60k of driving. So that level of wear clearly does free up some horsepower. And I would guess that you are right that at the end of a motor's...

Blown head gasket - I think. Questions inside

So I was pulling onto the highway today. Car was running great. I look in the rear view mirror, and there is a good cloud of smoke. I killed it and pulled over. Coolant in on the lower intake, splashed on the firewall, and pooled on the top of the timing cover. I'm guessing a blown head...

    Running Scared!

The stars were Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines. Man that movie was pretty funny. I figured it was long forgotten though. Running Scared

    Best Exhaust setup

The best flowing exhaust setup (which was one of your questions) would probably be straight pipes off the heads - not headers, straight pipes. That would yeild the least restriction. Of course your ears, neighbors, and the police would find that setup to be, well less than ideal. IMHO...

    Heads OR Intake?

Intake first, then heads. (Both at the same time will be more satisfying, but if you want to do them one at a time, it's intake first)

Can I use rubber hose for the egr tube?

I ran a high temp hose to connect up, but I didn't connect it right at the header bung. I cut down the stock pipe so there was about 2 inches, both ends. Then I clamped the hose to connect between each end. And it still blew out. I was using the ultra expensive high temp hose too. So that...

Need a New Digi Cam ....

The primary digicam brands are Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Kodak, Panasonic and Sony. Canon is arguably the best. But you will probably be happy with any. The biggest drawback among that group is Sony, who uses expensive, low capacity memory stick cards (a clear disadvantage, unless you have other...

    LOCKING header bolts

Thread revival means you are using search. Nice. :nice: Locking header bolts are a convenience. If you don't mind paying the premium for convenience, then YES they are definitely worth it. Otherwise, be certain to tighten after 2-4 heat cycles, and maybe once again after another few heat...

hey, new guy needing some guidance

The early 4.6 was pretty doggy. And the 94-95 5.0 was a little under rated (artificially) to compensate for the fact that Ford knew the early 4.6 would be a bit of a dog. So they dropped the claimed factory ratings on the 5.0 in 94 so the 4.6 would look like a step up when it debued. Or so...

    LMAO what an idiot.

I think you meant to say that he has a very nice car, OTHER than the fact that he needs to weld his oxygen senders back on. I guess you could always suggest he change the blinker fluid or lube the muffler bearings to free up a few more ponies.

    The Lifters!!!!!Dam

Damn GreenMustang, Thanks for the heads up. I took the shortcut method I guess. But don't worry, I printed out your instructions in multiple different fonts. I'll be pulling my motor apart and get started on that just as soon as I finish ironing my socks and removing the static from my TV screen.

Anyone found a good way to attach side scoops?

What exactly are these side scoops? Pics? My guess would be that you need to degrease the area, because wax is probably impeding the double-sided tape from working. (I won't even go into the issues presented by the mere fact that you are using double sided tape on your car. :D )
