    Super 40s sound great, but they won't be as loud as the SLP. Dr. Gas X pipe and Flows ...thats my favorite combo for GTs, and you'll turn every head you pass with that set up. :nice:

    Yeah Magnapacks are loud ...but IMO Flowmasters sound the best on mustangs ...either way, you'll easily be able to hear yourself talk - they aren't THAT loud inside

    yeah it will be louder, especially when you get on the gas with the LTs and offroad pipe. And personally, Dr. Gas X with Flows is my favorite combo for GTs

    Does it do it all the time or just when its cold? My car whines when its cold ...it sounds like a siren as you described, but it goes away after a few minutes ...I think its the alternator on mine ...

    If you have flowmaster, you will have drone. Simple as that. Thats what a lot of people like about flowmaster, and thats what a lot of people hate ...you won't really get rid of it unless you switch mufflers. Changing to a Dr. Gas X would make it even louder and you would probably like it...

    UPR, SLP, Mustangtuning, and Flowtech all use a very similar X junction - and they all sound great with Flowmasters BBK and Bassani use a different style and some people complain about rasp with these - but it is all opinion.

    Yeah ...Dr Gas X. The sound is unique ...smooth, deep tone that really screams when you get on it. I can't even describe the sound it has when you hit 4,000 rpm+ ...its awesome. Dr Gas and Flows is by far the best sounding combo I have ever heard. You can't appreciate it till you hear it...

    Prochamber is significantly quieter than the X. It does have a nice deep sound, but I would take the howl of an X pipe over it any day.

    Not sure about the headers - I know that the BBKs are a good quality - but not sure about the install since I havent done it yet on my car. Basically the H will give you the classic deep tone and the X will give you a deep sound down at low RPMS, and a real racy, howling sound when you get on...

    If the 96-98 is the body style you like ....get one. Don't get a 99+ for the sole fact that it has PI heads. I like the 96-98 style and thats why I got it. If you do feel like changing the heads, then you can. It would actually be cheaper to buy a 96 for around 8,000 and change the heads on...

    prochamber might have sounded deeper, but it woulda been noticelbly quieter ...and definetly wouldnt sound as mean as the X when you get on the gas :nice:

    I have a 96... Got the exhaust so it sounds mean. Got the gears so it's fun to drive. I am happy with it now ...just need to work on the looks department - need headlights that arent yellow, and some new wheels would be nice

    I recommend Dr. Gas, Magnaflow, SLP, or Mustangtuning X pipes - they all use the same style X junction and haven't heard any complaints about any of these brands. SLP is so much more expensive because you can change out the cats for straight pipes or vice versa - they use band clamps to allow...

    Catted X will be relatively quiet at idle, noticeable but not obnoxious at cruise, and loud at WOT. (depending on the mufflers) I have the SLP X- got a clip of a few revs if you want it...just PM me with your email address

    www.drgas.com go to the articles - that explains what an X pipe does and why it's the best. And as far as sound, straight pipes compared to an X will sound A LOT different. The straight pipes will sound loud and rough - more like a classic muscle car sound. An X pipe will quiet it down...
