    Conspiracy Theory

If you're willing to drive a 500 pound, 100CC car, maybe. :) If GM, Ford, whomever could really make a practical car that got that kind of mileage, they'd have the whole country beating down the doors to buy one.

    Conspiracy Theory

There are millions of 12-15 MPG SUV's on the road today. They most certainly have an impact on the demand for gasoline in this country. Especially when the vast majority of SUV drivers could get by just as well with a minivan that gets 25 MPG. But a minivan isn't as cool as an SUV.

    Conspiracy Theory

There are multiple issues. The strategic petroleum reserve doesn't have enough oil to put any kind of dent in the worldwide demand for oil. Releasing oil from the SPR is a political move, and will do nothing to reduce the price of a barrel of oil. The price of oil is mainly being driven up by...

    Conspiracy Theory

How exactly is our government in control of gasoline prices? I have a co-worker who insists GWB is in complete control of the price of gas, I'd like to hear any rational explantion that supports this theory :)

MUSTANG GT takes on a CORVETTE!

You gotta watch those WRX's - they're damn fast. Even the non-STI model is a serious competitor. Of course, the car is butt-fricking ugly, but it is fast...

What will it take to beat an LS1?

How many neutral drops has he done in it? Blowing the rear ends on a stock A4 is very uncommon.

    Mustang for second vehicle

Then you need more than a Mustang GT to do that. Maybe a C6 Corvette at the minimum, a Z06 preferably :) Or wait a year or two and try the Shelby Mustang, it might come closer anyway...

What will it take to beat an LS1?

Wow. Just because you own a bad one doesn't mean they are all bad. I've got a 2002 Z28 that's been much more reliable than the last two Fords I've had. My 2001 Cobra was the biggest pile of crap I've ever owned, and I've owned a LOT of new cars. However, sample sizes of 1 are...

? for 06 owners Re: Gas Cap and BP Branding

That is true. You can thank the tree hugging, backpack wearing, granola eating, Birkenstock wearing, spotted owl saving, bike riding environmentalists for that. The US definitely needs more refining capacity, but nobody wants a refinery in their back yard.

MUSTANG GT takes on a CORVETTE!

The Vette is lighter than your car, and has at least 50 more HP. He probably had an automatic transmission, at the wrong speeds they can suck from a roll.

How about a LX Mustang for 07 ??

You forgot the manual crank windows!

    Future competition for mustang

Good old American V-8 muscle is what I care about, but yes there are non-domestic cars that compete in the same space. Problem is, I don't care for any of them. Although I currently have a Camaro, I've also had my share of Mustangs as well. I love 'em both, and it would take an awful lot to...

Mustang GT vs Mazda RX-8, Can't decide which to buy

And we all know Consumer Reports is the epitome of autombile performance testing. I don't think too many people in the real world would believe that.

    Future competition for mustang

GM is going balls out to get their redesigned trucks and SUVs on the market, and they get ****ty mileage too. A lot worse than a Camaro. The 4th-gen Camaros got very good mileage for a performance car, I would expect the same from a possible 5th gen.

    Future competition for mustang

No, it didn't. My 2002 Z28 had a base price of $22,830 and came fully loaded at $27,245. That's with leather seats, T-Tops and an automatic transmission. OK, yes that was 3 years ago, but GTs were in that exact same ballpark. A 2005 GT with most options (leather seats and an automatic) is...

Mustang GT vs Mazda RX-8, Can't decide which to buy

I don't know where you live, but around here Premium is 20 cents a gallon more than Regular unleaded. At $2.49 a gallon for Regular, Premium is only 8% more :)

Pics of crashed to crap '05 Mustang GT

Wonder if they were riding on that spare tire when they wrecked?

Mustang GT vs Mazda RX-8, Can't decide which to buy

Unless you're absolutely smitten with the handling of the RX-8, I'd say get the Mustang. The Mustang is, IMHO, a better looking car, has a V8 engine (no wimpy Wankel here!), better sounding, and better mileage (and takes regular unleaded). Personally, I'd take the GT in a heartbeat over...

Comments on 05-06 New Dodge Products..!!

    I ran a Hemi 300C a while back. I'm in Denver, so my times are definitely affected by altitude :) Anyway, he ran a 16.3, I ran 14.7 (2002 Z28 A4).
