    no welding necessary, you could install it yourself with some jackstands and a hacksaw... it's a little tough in areas but nothing you can't handle... use some wd40 on the rubber hangers FYI oh, and show your dad my mustang exhaust page and show him my clip... that'll change his mind

    deadlast's rattle in the rear is probably due to those anti-rattle clips use blue-een or anti-squeak spray on the rears of the pads... and yea, tightening the lugs are a good idea

    I have that problem too... i thought 'riored' or 'rio something' was talking about wheel bearings a long time ago. but if it's the axles that are moving, wouldn't that be the c-clips? which hold them in (at least that's what I think holds them in)

    probably depends on what springs/suspention you're running and if you still have the pinion snubbers on there... and then there's speed bumps don't vettes run like 4" off the ground? anyways, free bump

    nothing wrong with it... you could run a higher octane fuel and it might go away. Or, you can adjust timing to get rid of it, but your mpg and/or performance would probably suffer. What you're hearing is known as 'pinging'... search that and you'll find tons of info this is the V6 forum too...

    I have no idea, but autozone, kragen, poa, and anywhere else has said that they only sell a $225 assembly for a '98 v6. I too checked the Haynes manual and didn't see any difference at all. I'm going to advise just buying one for the gt or a differnet year or something thanks

    did you both use brake cleaner on the rear of the pads and caliper and then use anti-brake squel (i call it blue-een or something like that) Common squeal can be attributed to dirt behind the pads btw: with a hydro-jack and the right tools, this can be done fairly quickly b/c you don't...
