    1) I used a spacer, you can find them at most auto parts stores. Just a hardened metal ring that fits snug on the ball joint and is the same diameter as the castle nut. 2) Should bolt right up, I have 01 Cobra calipers on a set of 96 3.8 spindles.

    Wait, you said you flipped your quads. Are you sure you they weren't already flipped at one point, meaning you actually put them back on the "correct" way? Also, did you cut the cover off the quads? That might give you that extra room you need.

    What size tire on what kind of rim? I have 275s in the rear, Ranger (stock Fox length) axles, and I still have my quad shocks. Actually, I had to space my quads out closer to the wheel to keep them from rubbing on my shocks.

    Yes, you can run that tire on a 8" rim...but it looks horribly stupid. Go with 245s and either install turning stops or simply don't turn the wheel to full lock.

    That looks like the smog crossover tube. Most people (with smog removed) remove that pipe and put two bolts in the holes in the heads to plug them.
