302 runs like POOP. Help! (long, rambling newbie)

Although it would be rare, check to see if there are any restrictions in the exhaust. Also check to make sure you are getting enough fuel.

    console mounted E-brake

Digging up an old thread... I picked up an emergency brake handle from a 90 GT and was wondering how to mount it. I remembered this thread from a while ago and had a thought... I returned to the junk yard, removed the center console, and took a cold chisel and cut out the bracket that included...

    Paxton Crank Pulley?? A/C?? HELP!!

Nope. I have no supercharger and currently plan on using a v-belt setup on my Boss Rod 5.0 (roller block with Carrillo 289 rods). I do have a KRC pump. I'm just using the standard KRC mounting bracket. I did have custom hydraulic hoses made to fit my stock proportion valve. I also rid myself of...

    Paxton Crank Pulley?? A/C?? HELP!!

Even the stock A/C setup has a separate tensioner. I highly doubt you can successfully run the A/C and P/S off of the same v-belt. If you need a serpentine tensioner, grab it from a junk yard off of any late model 5.0. I picked mine up from a Lincoln Mark VII. The serpentine pulleys are also...

    Paxton Crank Pulley?? A/C?? HELP!!

Here is a good installation article that should answer most of your questions. http://www.mustangandfords.com/howto/5270/ You can order a driver or passenger side mount for the supercharger. A passenger side will require you to move your battery tothe trunk but you should be able to retain...

    What engine should I build?

Absolutely. You would essentially have a roller 289. Deck height and main journal sizes are the same.

    What engine should I build?

Balancing should be done with the entire assembly (rods, crank, pistons, balancer, flywheel, rings, piston pins & retainers) Correct. Speed Pro makes pistons with the correct pin height and valve reliefs. I have a set in my Boss Rod 5.0. Unfortunately, I do not have the part number for these...

    What engine should I build?

Even with the rebuild, expect ~$500 in machine work just on the block and you will have to replace the pistons ~$200 - ~$500. If you decide to keep the Crank and Rods, definitely upgrade to ARP bolts and have the rods reconditioned ~$200. You will then want to get the entire assembly balanced...

    Dash Restoration on my 66

Take some #0000 steel wool to the chrome pieces. It will even work on the chromed plastic on your bezel. Give this a try before replacing anything. Also check out prices for what you need from Dallas Mustang. Mustang's Plus runs on the high $$$ side. Priming is always a good idea. You might...

    Is This Car a GT

There are no codes on the body or door tag that indicate a car is a true GT. Visually, it is easy to create a wanna-be but there are a couple of details that are sometimes overlooked. The GT never came with fingers or rocker panel mouldings. If you pull the interior rear quarter panel, you can...

    High Volume Water Pumps

I'd agree with you in terms of flow and on a relatively moderate build. If you see higher RPMs, or if your engine is in the 400HP range, and/or run the car hard in racing conditions, I'd consider the Victor pump simply for the materials used such as bearings and impeller. $.02

    54cc + flattops = ? compression?

Static compression is 10.6:1. This is considering .060 overbore and +0cc for flat tops. Dynamic compression will vary based on your cam specifics but it should be close to ~10.0:1.
