    Clear this up for me

First, counterbalance is based on the crank, not the damper and flywheel. If you have a 28 oz. crank, you have to use a 28 oz. damper and flywheel. You have to match the damper and flywheel with the crank counterbalance. From your explanation above, I have no idea what you need. It sounds...

    Leaf spring recommendations and advice

Sounds like a sweet setup. I have the Maier subs and Koni's. I am planning on the Flex-a-form leafs and Maier adjustable panhard for a future install. How did you route the exhaust? Did you use any other rear traction device?

    Engine build-up suggestions

Exactly. Depending on how you drive the car, the tranny and rearend will take some serious abuse with the added cubes and power output of a stroker. Traction is really the key and also a balancing act on how much power you can transmit to the road. Sticky tires with a high torque engine requires...

    GT40 Wheels

No problem. Halibrand caters to the Cobra replica crowd and has a high quality product but comes at a price.

Halibrand and Cheap should not be used in the same sentence.

    Engine build-up suggestions

You can easily do 350 HP with a Holley Systemax or Edelbrock Performer or Performer RPM power packages. These kits include cam, lifters, intake, heads, and gaskets necessary for the install for about $2,500. 345HP GT-40 crate motors are available from Summit for $3,200. You can also bolt on...

    347 STROKER

Why choose the Crane over the Pertronix? There are a lot of success stories with the Pertronix unit. I haven't heard much about the Crane kit.

The pistons are custom and could actually be Chevy slugs. The tops of the pistons have also been bead blasted. I assume this is to harden the surface and help against possible detonation damage. I'll post some pics of the pistons in a day or so. I'm still in Tucson enjoying the Western mountain...

    explorer 5.0 conversion balancer/pulley

Correct. This is the same damper I purchased for the Boss Rod 5.0 I'm building. I have not yet assembled the complete motor but FPS sells these and assures it will work fine.

    explorer 5.0 conversion balancer/pulley

Professional Products is the balancer you need. There is no spacer necessary if running the V-Belt setup. It will work with a 3-bolt setup. Spacers alloy you to run a 4-bolt serpentine setup if you choose to do so in the future. They are rated to 6,500 RPM and have timing marks for early and...

Boss Rod 5.0 Assembly Has Begun

I agree, but I could not pass up a deal for a new block, Carrillo rods, ARP stud kits (crank, heads, screw-in studs), nodular crank, Speed Pro racing pistons, and ported Edelbrock RPM cylinder heads for $2,200! I did an initial mockup of the engine to make sure everything fit properly. I...

Boss Rod 5.0 Assembly Has Begun

Well, the only thing that is getting painted on the engine is the block. Everything else (except the pan) is Aluminum. The Canton pan doesn't need paint. This was easier than scraping all the overspray off of the head, timing cover, and oil pan gasket surfaces so I have to disagree. It looks...

I like the angled flares you did. Most I've seen are too round and look like bubbles. You must really turn some heads! For the wheel hop, you have several options. One of the least expensive options is intalling solid under-ride traction bars ~$100 US. These are from...

Boss Rod 5.0 Assembly Has Begun

More Progress... I had to pick up some more 1/2" plugs to cap the front and side oil passages. The block also had a hole for a knock sensor so I plugged it as well. You can see the screw in plugs in this image. Usually, these are pressed in caps. There isn't really any measurable advantage...

My 66 Mustang coupe with turbocharge 2.5 Toyota engine

You have to admire some of the Japanese. Did you notice it is right hand drive? The master cylinder is the key. It would make sense over there since Ford V8 parts are probably hard to come by and expensive... so why not swap drivetrain with parts that are easier to come by? It may make sense...
