    Another cam thread

    Best rule of thumb to go by is if the cam your installing has more than .550 gross lift, you need to change the valve springs.

    Installing VT stg 1 N/A Cams.

    I saw it. They took the front cover off which makes the cam swap fool proof. They took the cam followers out using a screwdriver to pry up on the follower which is OK. Using the valve spring compressor tool would be better.

    28 spline vs. 31 spline?

    Axle diameter on a 31 spline is the same as 28. The size of the spline itself is smaller to allow for more of them. The biggest advantage to aftermarket axles is that for example Moser's are a custom alloy. Tensile strength is much higher than the cheezy stock ones.

    Prior to the install did you disconect the battery so that the computer would reset? Also, it took my car a few days to settle in when I put on my Accufab.

    If your in there already doing the gears, do the axles as well. They have to come out anyway for the gear install.

    Yes you will need a 31 spline carrier. Here's my Eaton 31 spline as compared to the Stock 28 spline.

    cleaning stock gears

    I used brake cleaner when I installed my FRPP Girdle. Cleaned everything up really well.
