    Speedo Swap?

    Anybody swap a 140 speedo from a 90-93 into a 87-89 (I know the cluster itself won't swap w/out wiring changes and the overlay doesn't fit w/out cutting)? Can you use a 90-93 speedo and buy white face gauges for 87-89 to replace the 90-93 overlay?

    I'm pretty sure you need a bellhousing and a auto crossmember or break the welds on the T-5 one and slide it foward. To the best of my knowledge you can use the same clutch and driveshaft on the 3550's but not the TKO's because of the different splines. Might be a good time to replace the clutch...

    There's a lot of variables with factoring speed like that. I did it once with mine 5th gear 4500 rpms with 2.73's and 215/60/15 and was around 170mph but I know I wasn't doing that. The ratio calculators don't calculate drag and such. Best way is to find a nice cop that's a gearhead or on a dyno.

    K@N panel filter in the stock box. There are 3/4 nuts inside the fenderwell that you need to remove to take the silencer off. The rubber mounts should be threaded into the engine bay and you can retain your stock air box.

    A TB/EGR won't really help unless the intake is opened up to the size of the TB/EGR but if you do I would be done and just get a 70mm. Also cheap bang for buck mod would be underdrive pullies on the crank and water pump. You can do the alternator but most have some charing issues with doing so...

    When to weld in subframes.

    If it was my choice I would wait but I guess the biggest thing is as long as the car is sitting level you should be fine. But most say the suspension should be loaded and all four tires on the ground. I did mine with a pit in a garage, the other option would be a drive on lift.
