Can't believe all the crying about the price!

A dealer renegging on a stated deal held by deposit?? That is pure B.S.. No argument there.

GT500 tested in the new Car and Driver...

C'mon, I'm disgusted that a bunch of car guys are sitting here tossing elapsed times back and forth, and nobody has mentioned the only real measurement that COUNTS, the MPH at the end of the quarter. Motor Trend recorded a terminal 1/4 trap speed of 116 mph, with two different cars, at two...

Can't believe all the crying about the price!

    1. Has it occurred to you that you're not likely going to get a decent deal in Jersey? Think about the demographics and typical business mindset of the area....... As I said, take some initiative. There are a TON of small-town Ford dealers out there who can get an allocation or two on these...

Can't believe all the crying about the price!

I shopped around, found a dealer who committed MSRP to me, and the car's on order... My best friend shopped around, and actually managed to negotiate an MSRP deal right here in-town, and the car's on order... His brother shopped around, and he's going to have to fly to go pick the car up...

    Newbie needs advice

Sorry, but I hunted around for a thread or FAQ that would answer these basics, and came up empty, so I'm hoping somebody can quickly offer up the info that I need. Basic stuff: My pops has a 2005 GT 5-sp MT. Rarely drives it, but anyhow, his only complaint is soggy and weak low-end-torque and...

    '04 SRT-4 vs. '05 GT

I've driven an SRT-4 on a road course. ALL that he can brag about is how fast his car is in a straight line. Because other than straight-line ability, the car is a total P.O.S.. No matter how quick the little guy is, it's a Neon. Crappy interior, roll-happy handling, cheesy little toy-brakes...

'05 Mustangs generally selling for MSRP or less...

BRILLIANT DEDUCTION. Wow, that's the scientific method at its purest  ...... Hey Jon Jon, you oughta go back to that dealer and inquire about the land they've got for sale in south Florida, or that bridge in Arizona.... Yeah, and they're being stored at a secret underground lair in...

    So Motortrend has sweet news

Yes, you forgot those lazy-a$$es  at Mercedes' AMG division. To equate what Ford produced with the Cobra to "slapping a supercharger on" is an absolute laugh. Engineering these blown motors to jump through all the federal certification hoops, and the manufacturer's own mandatory...

Triton V10 in an '05 GT?

That had no relation to the Triton V10 truck motor. The V10 in the GR1 and Cobra concept was an aluminum 4.6 with an extra bank of cylinders grafted on, if I remember correctly.

WHICH GOES BETTER WITH RED INTERIOR- REDFIRE OR TORCH RED

My pops just ordered redfire with the red interior. Myself, I would have gone with silver and red interior (like the concept), or black with red. I've never been much of a red car fan. I'm curious to see how pop's car will look in person...

    SCREWED BY DEALER TODAY!!

I couldn't agree more. Just because you want to be the 1st on your block doesn't automatically dictate that you must be the dealership's bitch. It just takes a few phone calls and some reasonable due-diligence.

    SCREWED BY DEALER TODAY!!

I ordered my dad's '05 GT premium at dealer invoice + $500 without any club deal, just called up and told 'em what I wanted. Don't have any good suggestions, as obviously, you were expecting to have the car sooner, not later. But pride alone would have me in the position that the dealer would...

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

I own a Tyrol Blue '67 H.O. 4-speed Goat, I'm a long-standing and big-time GTO fan. As for the new GTO's, love the interior, great seats. The rest? Hard to get very emotional about. Down-under fit/finish and assembly is... um.... different, except for that nice interior of course. Heck, what do...

Break-in period of new 2005 stangs

The "ticking" stuff sounds like pure bad-luck coincidence, nothing more. I've never had an engine reliability/health issue with any vehicle I've owned. But this thread is getting a bit over-the-top. There's not a ton of credibility to the notion that if you drive the snot out of the car in the...

Just as i suspected, dealer rip-offs easy to avoid

Yes, and the sooner everybody says "no" and takes their business elsewhere, the sooner that ALL dealerships will float back to planet earth...

Break-in period of new 2005 stangs

You basically missed alot of good potential fun-time in those 1st 3,000 miles for no good reason. There is no need for a "break in", today's motors are ready to roll the moment you drive off the lot. The only suggestion is to vary speeds on the highway, not to sit at a constant RPM. The whole...

Just as i suspected, dealer rip-offs easy to avoid

Well, for all the people whining that the dealer down the road is charging premiums above sticker, I just placed an order for my dad for a new '05 GT Premium, fully loaded with the interior upgrade package and the red interior package, 5-speed, standard bullitt wheels, anti-theft, locking lugs...

MT 2005 CAR OF THE YEAR!!!!!

Both the new Mustang and new 300 are superb efforts in two totally different categories. I think where the 300 nipped the Mustang is that Chrysler created a totally new and revolutionary style, unlike anything that had been seen before in a production car, as opposed to the Mustang, which is...

    MUSTANG GT,MUSTANG COBRA,PORSCHE BOXSTER S

I'm right there with you on that line of thinking... if you're going to be a bear, be a grizzly. The Boxster really is kind of the "mini-me" to the Dr. Evil 911. But, I respect them nonetheless because they really are super cars for the niche they occupy. And I've got nothing against S2000's...
