    Cigarette smell removal

You can find and try dozens of chem solutions from Pep Boys, AutoZone, Wal-Mart etc; some of them will work to some degree but as stated above, smoke odor is very difficult to get rid of entirely. You not only have to remove it from the visible headliner, seats, carpets - but also from HVAC...

    Comfortable aftermarket seats?

If you think the present generation GT seats are uncomfortable, you shoulda tried the previous generation! I had a 2002 GT Vert that was so bad I was shopping eBay for weeks trying to find '03-'04 Cobra seats to install. Finally went with an '05 GT and that solved the problem; perhaps your...

    Are stock Ford gears ok?

If they're new, they're probably still in the original box...check the part number. If it's Ford-built, the part number ends with an "A." If they're built by Motive, the part number ends with a "M." A is better than M when it comes to potential gear noise after the install. Good luck...

    vandalized gt

Stant sells a locking gas cap for 2005+ Mustangs; the one they list for GTs is part #10510. You can check their catalog at: http://stant.com/part_locator/index.cfm I have one and it works fine. I think it was around $15 shipped but you might be able to find it locally at AutoZone...

    Looking for a Dyno shop

Don't know how far "north" you want to go, but I can highly recommend B&D Racing in Canoga Park. Contact Brian at: [email protected] for an appointment; they also will not BS or rip you on mods you might want to buy in the future. They're a full-race shop and do lots of supercharger...

    Gear question

It takes a good mechanic approx 3-4 hours - so multiply that by the shop's labor rate which will vary across the county. In California, figure $70 to $100 per hour. My 2002 GT gear swap (to 3.73s) cost me $175 on a "special" advertised deal but my recent 2005 GT gear swap (to 4.10s) was closer...

need help frpp 4.10 gear issue ?

I had FRPP's 3.73 ring & pinion installed in my '02 GT 5-spd manual and had no noise whatsoever from the day of install until I sold it, two years later... Now, for my '05 GT manual, I've having FRPP 4.10s installed along with D-Spec Tokicos before the end of the month. For what it's...

    Anybody familiar with Leasing?

Early Lease Terminations = Not Fun In general you owe all the remaining payments once the interest portion is removed. This could vary depending on what company actually holds legal title and their policies. Without knowing your lease contract details it's difficult to estimate what that...

New air filter or clean it

Replacement Filter Element, C&L CAI I asked C&L about a replacement filter; they sell them for $40 + shipping. Or you can use the K&N cleaning/re-oiling kit which is available at Pep Boys, Autozone, etc. Just be carefull not to over do the re-oiling since that can royally screw-up your MAF...

    Need help with new tires.

Can't go wrong with Goodyear GS-D3s on UltraLites I also have a 05 GT Vert in Silver Satin, black interior and top. Just recently went with Steeda UltraLites chrome 18x9 rims and Goodyear F1 GS-D3s all around in 275/40-18 size. Also installed Steeda's Sport Springs front and back. No...

    B&M or MGW Shift Kit?

B&M Shifter` Thanks for the replies so far. The B&M sells in the $180-190 area so it's a lot cheaper than Steeda and Hurst, not to mention the Roush shifter (Hurst also?). Like to get some more opinions, in particular from people with Tri-Ax or Pro5.0 experience in the past. Jeff

    B&M or MGW Shift Kit?

I understand that the MGW shifter for 2005+ Stangs won't be out 'till summer...anybody install the new B&M shifter? Had a Pro5.0 in my '02 GT and it was OK but looking for smoother action this time around. http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id=products&sid=4&cat=3&subcat=15&pid=338 Jeff...

Two Days at the Dealer...and 50 "starts" Later "Could Not Replicate Problem" - hey, hard to tell THAT one was coming, LOL... Did not throw a code and both key/chips worked fine. According to the service writer (a guy that I've now known through several Ford vehicles over the years) their...

05GT That Starts Like a Marx Brother...

Excellent (and easy/cheap) suggestion on the key; I'll try the spare to see if there is any difference... As for pushing the clutch pedal to the floor - that I already do. Got an appointment with the dealer on Monday morning so I'll report back. Thanks!!!!!!!!!

05GT That Starts Like a Marx Brother...

The one named Zippo (ok, so actually it was "Zeppo"). As in when I start it up, cold or warm, I get nada, nothing, no noise, no clicks. Turn the key off and back a few times and eventually it will start just fine. When it does start, no unusual starter noises, no extra time for it to...

Question for '05 GT Vert Owners

thanks Bobbo - Thanks for your response. I drove the '05 vert yesterday and it didn't exhibit any "pop" to the suspension; time will tell on that and the gas fill problem. Jeff
