Florida 5.0 Gauges install, how hard??

I have not done it, but know what you are talking about. I was wanting to get them as well, but decided to make my own. It's only as hard as the gauges you pick, since they are all autometer, I would assume there wouldn't be any hurdles that couldn't be easily overcome. I would give myself...

    aluminum head install ?s

Alright..... 1... 1.6 will be a LITTLE easier on your valve train....but you will keep it under 6500(assuming) so using the 1.7(which both open/close the valves quicker and give more cam lift) would be of benefit in your case. I am using 1.72s and a larger cam over 6500 with no problems...

    cam experience

If I were to go and buy a cam today, I would go with a custom comp cams, or an AFM. Just curious, do you run a stock block?

    Throwout bearing or shifter?

5th has syncs I am running royal purple in my 3550, and we all know tremecs used to state that synchromesh was the only stuff to run. I can say that the shifting is a BIT notchier, but not harder. I will go back with synchromesh when its time for a change. But T-5s want Dextron III(I...

    C&L or Pro-M

Pro-M would be the best as far as performance and drive ability, C&L is cheaper, and can be calibrated with sampling tube changes.(Pro-M must be sent back for calibration if you change injectors ~$100) Calibration depends on what injectors you have, they must both match(unless you have a...

    now what?

I assume you have already checked, but make sure all the pulleys are still OK and that the water pump shaft is not warped. Second, pull the distributor cap off, crank the motor back and forth with a wrench(longer the easier)...make sure there is no play in the timing chain(the distributor...

    Throwout bearing or shifter?

The squeal is the T/O bearing, the shifting problem could be a number of things. I doubt changing the shifter will help at all. What fluid are you running? And the issue with reverse is due to the fact that t-5s don't have any reverse syncs, I used to put mine in 1st, then reverse. The...

    30lbers of 42lbers?

I would go with 36#, they will leave room for your H/C/I as well. Just make sure your fuel system is up to the job and have it dyno tuned.

331 guys get in here, please...

I will guess around 320, if you have not gotten the chip, a Tweecer is a much better investment, I just replaced my autologic with the Tweecer RT, it already feels like a whole new car.

Is any one running low 13s with this combo??

There are cars running low 12s with less, look at the factory stock cars. But with traction you should see mid 13s, possibly low with great driving.

    Need help fast!

Don't get the 86, the pistons don't have notches and will limit your head/cam combo. Im sure your block is OK, as well as most components. Pull your oil filter apart and see just how much metal is in it. Worst case you will have to replace all bearings and an oil pump(cam and lifters...

    NOS with carbs

Your setup will handle a 150 shot fine as long as you tune in correctly. The two carb guys I know that run at least 150 shot, leave their timing alone, and only change the plugs to two heat ranges cooler. The 302 based setup(somewhat similar to yours in a LIGHT car) went 11.5 on motor, and...

Speed Demon 650 or 750 for this setup?

You should see a little more than 400 FWHP, but I would go with the 650 and tinker with it(different jettings/spacers). I read in an article of a company that makes spacers that increase the cfm by ~30 and add a good amount of power across the range, I think it was in the new 5.0 issue.

    torque box, charcoal canister

I just checked out edelbrocks site and didn't see anything about subframes that reinforce the torque boxes, but yours did not look to be beyond repair, so I would say that any reinforcement would help.

Help on ash tray lid and visor light

The door can be fixed with just a simple spring, attach one end to the lip, and notch one of the door arms to put the other end of the spring there. Granted, this fix wont have the factory function of opening and staying open on its own, but 20 bux for a fix is overpriced. I can send pics on...

    torque box, charcoal canister

Those torque boxes don't look pretty! Mine were about as bad due to SSM lift bars(solid bushings). I got some battle boxes from wild rides (~$120) and replaced the SSM bars with some MM spherical bearing type, Problem solved.
