    Doing Shelby drop

Yes, we all understand that Arning came up with the original idea, but CS actually did it in a production car, and sold several thousand Shelby Drop cars that Gulstrand, or Arning were not able to do because they didn't have the maketing powers to make it happen.

    Why won't my wheels fit?

I would really like to know how you can put an SN 95 suspension underneath a classic Mustang. If Ms or whomever has done that, then I would really like to see the results, and even get the procedure into the FAQ so that we can all see it in action and take measures to make our classics into...

    Doing Shelby drop

McNamara huH? :D He was a politician for Christ'sake and was pretty much up to his neck with concerns about the Vietnam war while he was in office. The Chevorlet Corvair was more of a concern back then than the Mustang.

    EFI engine swap

I've been up and close to JamesW's 65 restomod as he showed it at the MOCA show on August 4th. Yes, Jimmie has done a remarkable job of making a perfectly good classic 1965 fastback into an EFI car that should never have been done in the first place. He won a trophy that he shared as the 2nd...

    Doing Shelby drop

So, you are saying that Arning developed the drop as part of a complete performance suspension package for 4 or 5 cars? Well, since you can't find a Falcon with that set-up, and you can hardly find a Shelby with that drop only, I guess it is a moot point. Face it, Shelby is the only one who...

    Can Anyone Identify These Wheels?

Even with the high resolution picture which is blurry, I can't tell which wheels they are. I will tell you that I think they are too damn big and shiny for a classic mustang. IMO If the first thing you see is the wheels when you first see a classic, then the wheels are wrong for the car.

    Engine Wiring Pictures

Try to figure out a little better routing for your wires. You have spark plug wires crossing over others and you have the main harness wrapped around the shock tower to cowl brace. I know it takes balls to post pictures of your engine bay because you are going to have Aholes like me...

    Sticky: I6 to V8 conversion

Maybe these stickies could be combined into one organized thread like the one I have posted so that the top doesn't get too crowded with redundant subjects. Just a thought. Here is what I have on the swap. Sounds expensive to me. I6 to V8 swap...

And the cost not only in parts but labor. I'm thinking thousands.

    retrofitting abs

Agreed. Upgrading to ABS requires upgrading to EFI and the whole computer shindig. Not worth the time or the money spent to get it done. Not even sure it can be done on a classic anyway. Just enjoy your classic as it is, a 40+ old car that if fun to drive.

    Doing Shelby drop

And I thank you Turbo. That is good to know. I was a college student at UT Austin back when the first 65 Mustang was displayed on the floor of the Ford house in Austin, and I remember telling myself that I would own one of those one day.

    Doing Shelby drop

Well, I have been on classic or vintage Mustang forums for over 12 years now since I got my 65, and have about 30 thousand posts. And, I have never heard of an Arning drop or a UCA drop. You may be right, but I have just never heard of the Shelby drop referred to as any of those. Now, who is...

    Doing Shelby drop

I got Degins (Dennis) kit. Looks like it is all there and all I need to do is take my Advil and Glucosamine and get to work. Both those templates look the same to me. What is the difference between the 65-66 and the 67 up template?

    What size engine should I get (302, 308, 310)

If you have to start with buying an engine, and not overhauling one that you already own, then I would also recommend a 351 and stroke it. That will be all the power you will ever need and a lot of fun to drive. If you are going to stick to the 302 block, then stroke it for almost the same...

    retrofitting abs

If you ever locked one up, you would want ABS. This has been discussed on other forums and nobody can figure out how to do it. Let ys know if you do it and have success.

    VIN on 1966

OK, I just got off the phone with Marti auto, and they can make a new data plate with all the information including the Body, trim, date, etc from your VIN if you order a deluxe package. This is for 1967 and up cars. So, for the 66, you are just SOL. www.martiauto.com
