Meanest mufflers for a 408 stoker?

I'm putting in a 331 and currently have Hooker Aerochambers with h-pipe dumped before the axle. Haven't put in the new engine yet, but if the current setup doesn't sound right, I'm going to switch over to Moroso's Spiral Flow race mufflers and make some NASCAR style boomtubes for side exit...

67-68 Cobra R model racing apron

Yeah, I know what you mean about the center being flimsy... And you are correct, does seem like the mold is just a little off on the sides, I am working with OEM fenders too. Other than that it is a great piece that not too many people have... I am in bodywork hell right now, so I've still...

67-68 Cobra R model racing apron

Here is mine... I am modifying it a bit (not pictured) I added fiberglass to where the stock grill trim pieces go so it will all be "flat" fiberglass. Also adding driving lights where the turn sigs are now and using Harley turn signals in the brake ducting holes... <embed width="448"...

    Automatic to Manual conversio0n

I switched my auto to manual, kept same support, got a clutch pedal from a local mustang junk yard and just cut down the brake pedal so a manual style brake pad will fit over it. The clutch pedal has the same rod that just replaces the one that was in there that the brake pedal rotates on...

    3.80's for a 8"

I just got done breaking in new 3.89's in my 9" using a C4 and my 1st and 2nd gear more or less disappeared (except when you really get on it). Extremely glad i will be running a 6-speed with my final combo. If you're just street cruising and want to get on the freeways, I would definitely...

Gloss body - flat stripe paint question

Going to be painting the '67 in the next couple weeks here (wish me luck, I'll need it) I'm doing a gloss BC/CC for the majority of the body, but I'm going to have a flat black stripe running down the center of the car using a flat black urethane and a flat urethane clear coat. I'm...

Alternator tests fine, only makes 12.4v on car???

Exactly what I was just thinking. Trying to work while you've got Mustang on the brain is tough! Good advice, I will do that right after work today and hope for the best.... Thanks. Edit: And now that i think more about when I was trouble-shooting, I was only getting the 12.4 from the battery...

Alternator tests fine, only makes 12.4v on car???

Yes, and I've checked the connections to ensure they are clean and tight. SoCal - I will take another look at my alternator wiring. I could definitely see that being a problem source. I need to just rewire the entire car as it looks like ALL of the PO's did crappy jobs of adding or fixing...

Alternator tests fine, only makes 12.4v on car???

Been struggling with some charging issues. Newer battery (2 months old), newish alternator, voltage regulator (electronic) and solenoid (all about a year old or so). With a fully charged battery everything is beautiful, starts and runs like a dream. After taking for a 15 minute drive I'll...

Voltage Regulator - electronic or mechanical?

I was having the same problem. Took a grounding strap from the negative post on battery to chassis and a grounding strap from the block to the chassis to get rid of it. Something to check if you haven't already...

Are you gonna drive the 'Stang even though the gas is $$$$$ ?s

Funny, my high performance Mustang will get better gas mileage than my DD 331, T-56, 3.89 gears (not sure of mpg, but better than ---->) vs. 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 32's 4.5" lift (13 mpg)

    Bolt-on vs. weld-on subframe connectors

If you have the skill and the tools, make some weld on connectors yourself. I just followed DazeCars instructions and built some bullet proof connectors... If Daze sees this, thanks a lot by the way! Great, easy to follow instructions... Save yourself tons of cash...

    8" to 9" break-in question

I am going to be swapping out the entire drivetrain (old- 289 C4, 8" rear) for new stuff (331, T56, 9" rear). I was hoping to be able to break in the new rear gears in the 9" using the old 289 and C4... EXCEPT, the driveshaft is looking like it might be too long... How much clearance does it...
