    Dyno Results!!!

Thanks for the additional info. I guess my science background says that the best control would have been to run the car stock again on the same dyno, same day, same tune with factory air box, and then slap on the CAI + tune adjusted for only the CAI. Then you can say precisely what the...

    Dyno Results!!!

Isn't that a "virtual" 1/4 mile? Meaning, done on the dyno---not sure how realistic those are...???

    Dyno Results!!!

Nice! Looks good, glad to hear about the performance improvements. Were the "before and after" dyno runs done on different days/dynos? How much did you you pay for the CAI? How much did the tunes cost?

XCal2 users with auto. trans-2 to 3 shift?

Sorry to be unclear-----when I say "dealer" in this thread I am referring to the tune shop/vendor/dealer where I bought my SCT Xcal2. So let me recap--- 1) the SCT vendor/dealer tunes caushed a weired shift from 2nd to 3rd 2) the fix came from an SCT employee *directly* in the shape and...

XCal2 users with auto. trans-2 to 3 shift?

Looks like it's fixed!! :D Thanks to Ryan at SCT for some new tunes. It shifts very well now between all gears, so I think the issue was definately tune related--stock didn't do it, tunes from the dealer did, new tunes from SCT don't. So---it's nice to actually enjoy things. I'll...

XCal2 users with auto. trans-2 to 3 shift?

I continue to have issues with my Xcal2 tune and what I call an unusual shift from 2nd to 3rd. All other shifts are normal...Since the V8 and the V6 (what I have) use the same automatic transmission, I thought I'd ask here rather than in the V6 specific forum. There has been at least one...

    GT exhaust takeoffs

Nice story on the GT takeoff swap  I did it myself too---I finally had to take the screws out of the muffler brackets to get it off and the new one on...once I committed to doing that, it went pretty well. Like you, I wrestled with it a bit...hehe. Finally have all the parts in hand...

    New hood lift kit

Cool. I actually read their site closer, and it says it will lift itself from about the half way point or some such..actually makes sense now that I think about it more...it's best to need some manual lift to get it started.

    New hood lift kit

Nice, Jimp! Are the struts strong enough to lift the hood by themselves? Or is it necessary to lift the hood and help on the way up? My trunk always needs some help...kinda surprised at that, actually.

    Exhaust Issue / Questions

No, I haven't served in any armed service. I do appreciate those of you that have, and still do!! :flag: Academics is more my thing...in fact, I'm responsible for some academic programs at Army, Marine, and Airforce bases :nice: Oh, I have an ROTC program that reports to me...

    Exhaust Issue / Questions

"Thank you Sir, may I have another!?!?" :rlaugh: In a few years, they'll be all over the junk yards, cheap for the taking... I think the Ford brackets will go a LONG way towards no rattles...so think of it as an auditory investment for the future

Ummm......you need TWO of those brackets for each muffler! Did you only get one for $57?? Ouch...

    Exhaust Issue / Questions

I ordered two brackets from this fellow at like $38.08 each: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=14734 So, even after shipping, it's cheaper than the dealer by a few bucks. Waiting on them to come any day now. He threw in the bolts. Got my driver's side pipe from the local...

    X-pipe question

Thanks for verifying, afixer. Because of my short drives, I worry about moisture in the pipes killing them prematurely! And thanks for the rationale about the clamps!! That makes good sense to me now. Hopefully they have some clamps (or are those the Ford originals??)

    X-pipe question

You can read all about AND see in photos afixer's solution :hail2: for a dual system here: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=34627 At least one other person on the forums has duplicated this, and I have all the parts on order to be yet another to do the same. Here is how...

    Magnaflow X-pipe with cats...

Hey afixer---as you probably recall, I'm gearing up to duplicate your exhaust. Question---what type of pipe did they use to patch the sections together? Stainless or aluminized? I chatted with one shop, and he doesn't even stock stainless----which to me seems like the way to go! So...

GT takeoff muffler on V6--some video

Well, I decided to put the single GT muffler on the stang until I get the remaining parts for the full dual/X-over mod. Here are 3 video clips: stock V6 muffler http://www.savefile.com/files/8917556 V6 with NO muffler http://www.savefile.com/files/9606842 :) V6 with single GT...

    On the Dyno today...

John---what was Lidio's interpretation of the overlay data? Anyplace where he went like "woah! check that out!" ?? I mean the torque is quite a bit higher, but the curve shape is a bit different, too. Neat stuff..

Right side V8 GT muffler same as V6 stock??

Okay, thanks for the info! I saw a different number for the left and right muffler on the V8, so I thought the same number meant same part. I was half wrong :) Wish the Ford sheet showed the part numbers in whole...
