    4.10's... traction?

applied torque is the output of the engine plus all the gear ratios; transmission and rear end. thats why if you order custom axles you need to calculate the torque applied to the axle. this is how you determine the spline count you need. so a 500ft/lb engine torque multiplied by a 3.00:1...

    1965 Mustang Rack and Pinion

here is a crappy picture bumpsteer diagram that i did a quick drawing. this looking from the front on the driver side. The dashed shows the line the inner mounting point of the tie rod should be mounted on. the only way to adjust this on your rack would be to move the rack up or...

    Hood Lock

i used to run a bike lock around the hood latch. this works buts its bulky. It was a coated braided wire with a padlock. it worked well. what about locking hood pins? i think they are weak so maybe if you use them witht he stock latch. also the msd box has an idnition kill function. I...

    1965 Mustang Rack and Pinion

what is the length of the tie rods? What is the dimension between the end link on the rack? post some pics, please. The adjustable bump steer just changes the connection point on the spindle. this is simply to make the LCA and steering linkages parrallel. i made my own by drilling out the...

    4.10's... traction?

i am assuming you currently have 3.08s with an open diff. so if you go to 4.10s with a posi setup. you will increase tire spin by 33% but you are putting that to two tires now. so i think its a wash??? If you need more traction you can fit a 315 tire in the back. i have a 3.08s with...

    4.10's... traction?

it will give you 33% more torque going with the 4.10 over the 3.08. this torque increase will give better acceleration as well. this more torque will be noticable and will hurt your highway cruising RPMs.

    1965 Mustang Rack and Pinion

is this the rack with the center take-off. If so the channel that bolts on can be redrilled to accomodate longer tierods. the tcp rack i have in my 65 came with the channel drilled for both 65 and 67. the 65 mustang needs to have a tie rod seperation of 18.25" to minimize bump steer start...

what intake manifold to go with?

the vic jr is also an air gap. It is a higher rise manifold, therefore its a higher RPM engine. The HP and torque curves will be at higher RPMs. It will also lose some signal to the carb, this may lead to some difference in street driving. so decide what you want from ur car and motor. i...

What would you get? 07 Saleen s/c or 07 GT500

saleens have a fake center exhaust, go look under one. you will see the mufflers have turn downs and then another center exit. i think that is lame. also the 4valve engine is alot better than the 3valve. just my two cents.

Help with Power rack and pinion for 1969 mustang 302v8 power steering?

maval or unisteer is ok. I have heard there are issues with it fitting the headers. also a loss of turning radius will happen. randalls has the same issue. These racks use an OEM rack that ws designed for a car with shorter steering arms on the spindles. the stock mustang has almost 6.5" of...

Help with Power rack and pinion for 1969 mustang 302v8 power steering?

for a bolt in, the TCP rack is the best. I am currently working on designing a better design for my 65 falcon. The TCP rack requires me to notch my frame. i really dont want to do that. here is a pic of my CAD design. also i made an aluminum steering column and the TCP will not work with what i...
