What are the tell-tale symptons of a worn clutch?

Start car up; put trans into 5th gear; engage clutch. If the engine stalls the clutch is still "good." (functioning)

Rear End Bearings - At home job for inexperienced?

I pulled the axle bearings on my '99, and had the tool, but the bearings were stubborn, and I had to use heat. You'll have to pull the axles, drain the diff housing, etc. So my answer to your question would be : NO. But, make sure you ask the mechanic how many Ford 8.8s he's worked on, etc...

    Seafoam is teh *****!

What's left after a house fire , after the flame and smoke is gone ? Oh, is it ashes, soot and carbon ? Carbon doesn't go up in smoke.

    Seafoam is teh *****!

Oh, are you pretending to be an automotive chemist now ? Ever hear of the concept of conservation of energy ? Check out the fuel injector apparatus some shops use - fuel injector cleaning solution fed into the throttle body . I have seen it done, apparently you haven't The risk is that...

    Seafoam is teh *****!

Or, another candidate for an engine rebuild Real Soon Now. I thought this thread was a long running joke, but apparently it's not, so here's a couple questions : Where does all the crud and carbon go, exactly ? (any evidence under the tailpipe after using Seafoam ?) Wouldn't rigging up...

    Diagnosing engine knocks...

Re-check that sparkplug to make sure it is sealing right- if they are scrogged or not tight they can make almost a valve train "tapping" sound. If it was a rod or main , you would be losing oil pressure, and/or thrown a rod, etc - those noises are pretty LOUD...

How much should I expect to pay to have my back bumper repainted?

Since your location is unknown, I would pay $ 200 South of the Mason-Dixon line. A bit more in the "Union" states or West Coast . HTH

Spark plug woes....Any Ford techs here???

In case there you do wind up stripping the spark plug threads, there is a tool , "Back-tap" which spins straight into the plug hole past the damaged area, then engages the undamaged threads. As it is spun back out, it catches the shavings. check out http://www.starproducts.com It is $...

    Car running like ****...

Double check the firing order. Also make sure the plugs are in all the way, a loose one will make a tick. Re-check for vacuum leaks.

    grease in rear wheel

Right, but he also has to remove the pinion lock bolt and pinion shaft from the diff. The ends of the axle shafts are very sharp along the splined end- if you are not careful, you will tear the rubber seal and be doing the job all over again. (Don't ask me how I know this !) One more...

how hot does your car run?

Yep, straight up and down for 6 years. I guess it's more hip than an idiot light. But - why did Ford bother ? Makes me wonder about the oil pressure gauge, too...

    Need a little electrical help!

Hey, I'm going through a pretty lengthy and toublesome turn signal/brake light prob myself. I am now in the "waiting on a part" mode, but I will try to help ya. I am looking at a '99 diagram , which might be slightly different than your Cobra's wiring but on this diagram, fuses #33 and #41...

How can an aluminum crossover be anything but aluminum ? I think I know what you really wanted to say. So, did Ford revise the design of the V8 intake starting in '99 or not ?
