    I don't think they're worth it. I laugh at people who buy them, especially on a mod motor because you can't even see them so it takes the bling factor away. I don't think they change the sound enough to be worth it.

    I think I threw a rod..

    They're tearing down the motor.....it's already hurting his wallet a lot. Labor rate for removal and teardown of a motor? We do it at 65 dollars an hour....x 24 hours. That's a big bill for removal/replace engine.

    Sounds like a bearing to me. Would the severity of the "banging" noise increase as RPM increase? It would be less severe in 5th gear because of decreased load and rpm on the motor. A spun bearing sounds (to me) like a metallic clanking that increases in speed and volume as RPM increase.
