    Need Help on A/C Delete

I took mine to an AC shop and they did the whole thing while I stood back and BS'd with the guy. I'm no tree hugger, but this seems like a no brainer to me.

    Cooling system upgrades?

I have a 331 and can't get the temp past the 1/2 way mark - I run a Taurus fan, Griffen rad, Stewart Components water pump and a DC Controller - what do you use to control the fan?

Water pump & balancer replacement, any advice?

If the bolts come out okay you can go ahead and reuse them. The problem is if they are rusted, it's easy to break them off, and now you have a busted off bolt in the block. Mine came out okay and have had no problems reusing them. I coated both sides of the gasket with a thin coat of silicone -...

    Something's broke with the clutch

Just curious what your friend said was the problem with clutch fork - its just a big chunk of metal - lots of things are gonna break before something happens to the fork. The rationale for doing a cable, FWA and quadrant, is they are the most common causes of the symptoms you describe, and...

    Who here autox's.

I will throw my $0.02 in for Bilsteins - just finished putting them in along with some other stuff - difference is unbelievable - but that's what everyone says when they replace the stock POS - just goes to show you how bad the stock stuff is - I guess once they are 15 odd years old, they are...

    Something's broke with the clutch

Ooops - good point - grab the clutch pedal with your hand and pull it up firmly as far as you can - this will reset the quadrant. When you push the pedal down with your foot, you should hear it rachet, and automatically self adust itself - that might work for you - if not, replace the cable.

    Something's broke with the clutch

Probably a stretched cable - if the fork will move when the clutch pedal is pushed down, then the cable is not broken - so most likely stretched - first step is get a new cable - I would do the quadrant and get a firewall adjuster at the same time - go with a ford OEM cable. If you think the...

    Will this buildup require balancing?

You MUST balance it - whoever put the rotating assy in without balancing it, is doing some half assed work. As said above, if not balanced, it will eventually shake itself apart. In order to balance it properly, he will need every thing from the flywheel forward including the balancer. You don't...

Need help removing springs.....first time doing it

That is the MFE article that I used - very good write up with no prying out of springs and hoping they don't come flying out! Take your time and you will be fine. I also bust a couple of breaker bars getting the A arm bolts to break lose - the torque setting on those bad boys is 140-200...

    SUSPENSION:best bang for my buck

Don't go cheap on suspension - wait until you can afford it and get it right the first time. I just installed a set of Bilsteins from www.shox.com for $465 shipped. I also put in FRPP B springs, MM LCAs and Steeda UCAs - car handles like it's on rails - one of the most satisfying mods I have...

Need help removing springs.....first time doing it

Well, if you have air tools and have done this a bunch of times, you probably could knock it out in an hour. It took me a lot longer. Put the whole car up on jack stands with the rear axle not supported by the jack stands. Remove the rear sway bar. On one side, loosen the lower control arm to...

    Little DC Controler help

Are you saying that you are overheating because the fan is not going above 10%? How do you know that the fan never exceeds 10% - simply because the engine overheats or by the speed of the fan? I have underdrive pulleys, a DC Controller, Taurus fan and the DC Control indicator light. I did...

    DC Controller- all I need?

Yes - it comes with everything to control your fan - you can adjust the temp that it kicks on at, you can set it up to run anytime the AC is on, to run at 10% all the time if you have underdrive pullies etc etc. The only thing to consider is an upgrade to your alt if you have not already done...

need help with Gears--buying tomorrow, also o2 sensors, and exhaust question

Don't know much about Torsen diffs - I think they are more of an off road application - here is some more info http://www.torsen.com/general/general_faq.htm A TruTrac is another type of limited slip differential - it doesn't use clutches so it doesn't wear out. Here is more info on it...

need help with Gears--buying tomorrow, also o2 sensors, and exhaust question

If you are planning on installing the gears yourself (but I am guessing that you aren't - just a hunch!) you are best off with FRPP gears. If you are taking it to a quality shop then just go with what they recommend - Richmond is another good gear manufacturer. If you really want to buy them...

Cast/Forged Steel Crank, what's the differenct?

The forged is always going to be stronger, and more expensive than a cast crank. But which is better will depend on your plans. If you are using a stock block, a cast crank will likely out last the block ie the block will breal before the crank does, so there is no reason to spend the extra on...

What's the deal with 30# injectors?

I have a 331 with 30# injectors and a ProM MAF. It starts and idles like stock. i might consider seeing if you can get your hands on a Pro M unit and see if that helps. I do not have any engine management setups - my tune up basically consists of adjusting timing, fuel pressure, and making sure...
