Ford to Stop making minivans/huge layoffs

here's a thought on how Ford could help fix the financial situation... I did a quick search to see what the average salaries are for auto assemblers. Here's what I found: (go easy on me if the #'s are a little off) Average Auto Assembler = $55K a year Ford Chief Exec/Chairmain 2004 = $22M...

    Are your gauges noisy?

like I said, it sounds to me like something winding down. Sound like something behind the dash is spinning, and when you turn the car off, it keeps spinning for a while until it stops. I don't know, I'm used to classic cars, so all this electronic stuff is new to me. Is there possibly a...

    Are your gauges noisy?

I get it too. It's very faint, and it sounds like a wind-up clock running down. You can't hear it with the radio on, so next time you take a drive, mute the radio, then turn the car off and remove the key, leave the door closed, and listen carefully. I have an 05 GT with the IUP and MyColor...

    CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS ?

so, since the gas is different, and the plugs are not covered on the Premium Maintenance plan, does that mean that since I live in CA I can expect my plugs to not last as long as they do in Kentucky? (sorry to tromp over your post MrKing!)

    CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS ?

I had to have a look in my paperwork to see where I saw something about CA having different spark plugs. I found it. In the pamphlet for the Premium Maintenance Plan it states that Spark Plugs are covered if they fail due to normal wear (Except in California). What's that all about?

    CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS ?

I think I read somewhere that the spark plugs are different here in CA... not sure why, but maybe it's just my imagination.

2007 Shelby GT500 Pics and Specs

Japan has not yet produced a reliable, high horse, AFFORDABLE V8. (Don't kid yourself, Lexis isn't affordable). Japanese automakers have gotten good at putting a hairdryer on a small engine, I'll give them that... so, America is good with a supercharger. You can't knock the supercharged 5.4...

05GT That Starts Like a Marx Brother...

isn't there also a computer chip in the key also? Try using the other key and see if it does the same thing. I was taught to eliminate the easy stuff first.

    05/06 seats

here's something to consider... look at your 2005 seats... the passenger seat sits a little lower than the driver seat... not too noticeable in the 2005, but in a 60's Mustang it might look odd...

dealer realy pissing me off now

Maybe you should ask the dealer to go for a test drive in another 06 mustang to see if it has the same vibration problems... or maybe you could meet someone here who is local to you, and willing to take his/her mustang along with yours... My trans is smooth as silk...

    opinions... help please

I replaced the stock wing with the Roush wing. I love it. I imagine you are hesitant because you have to drill holes in the rear quarters, but I say go for it. Sorry, I don't have any pics either...

    Avoid "Importstuning.com" like the plague

1st mistake... shopping at an import website for your Mustang. Do that again and we'll have to revoke your right to drive your Mustang.

    hesitation around 2800/3000 rpms

I've got a 5spd manual and haven't noticed the problem... except with my cruise control on. Once in a while with the cruise on, I'll push the button to speed up and it takes a second before it happens. It's usually around 65-70 mph. I'm guessing it's the crappy drive by wire. Has anyone...

    Interior Upgrades In Mid Year

If I'm not mistaken didn't the 60's mustangs have steel dashboards and doors? So the only difference is that instead of an interior made of steel it's made of plastic. Whats the problem? If you need something "softer" go buy some padding and leather, then get a can of 3M trim adheasive and...

    Roush Spoiler only?

I've got the Roush spoiler too. I had the dealer install it when I bought the car. I'm not a big fan of add-on ground effects, so the only thing I wanted was a decent wing that didn't look to ricey. I really like the looks of it and the center part mounts in the stock wing holes.

Is this sadistic or a stoke of genius

Technically, since they are "lambo" doors, they wouldn't be rice, they'd be pasta or pizza or something... Either way, I'm still waiting for a lambo owner to go custom, and put "mustang" style doors on!

Hope you've got a comfortable pair of shoes!

Anyone ordering a GT500 or are you merely salivating ?

I'd like to have the Cobra too, but even $40K for a car is too much for me. I'd rather spend that on a classic that will appreciate immediately. So... here's my plan: I'm putting 2000 miles a month on my daily driver 2005 GT. At that pace my warranty will be up in Oct 2006. I'm hoping that...

Help me sort fact from fiction

Just a thought, there might be more to the whole "why don't they build 20,000 units." Aren't there EPA laws that set the standard that a % of cars produced must get X amount of MPG? If Ford sells 20,000 units of a supercharged 5.4 they are going to have to off-set the average by either cutting...

Fit and Finish - How's your's holding up?

I've got 10,400 miles on it, and not a squeek or rattle anywhere. I thought the plastic would start scratching but it hasn't. I have a dog that jumps in with me all the time, and he likes to put his front paws on the center console (so he can see over the dash) and his claws haven't yet...
