Stick vs. Auto (not that again!)

uh, I live in LA, and drive the traffic to work, and I have to pass through the 2 worst interchanges in the country. I would have passed on getting the Mustang if I couldn't get a manual. The clutch is light enough that driving in traffic isn't that bad. Heavy traffic is an excuse that girls...

    Has anybody heard of this?

Mine's the same. I had a look under the bumper and there is a weak little bracket held in place with "push-in" style clips. Bad design. I plan to take it in to see what they can do.

    Abrupt hissing sound

yeah, several of us have found that. It's just the great engineers at Ford. As far as I've been told it's normal and usually happens when your a/c is on low. It's annoying, but I'm finally starting to get used to it.

    Front Bumber License Plate

I also signed a waiver. As far as I know there is no bracket anyway. The front plate is held on with 2 screws through the bumper, so if you decide to put it on later it's not a problem. I haven't been hassled yet, but I keep the plate, screws, and wrench in the trunk just in case... you...

    2006 18" rims

I saw them on another thread... unless those aren't the stock Ford rims... http://forums.stangnet.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37621 This wasn't meant as a flame to CHCPMAN...

    2006 18" rims

this may have already been said, I didn't do a search... but I heard that the 2006 had an optional 18" wheel... I didn't bother to see what it looks like until now... is it just me or does it look a LOT like the GTO rims?

    Ford racing Cold Air Induction

how about this idea... at idle you are sucking in hot air. But at 75 mph you are getting a lot of fresh air, apparently so much air that hoods have blown of the race cars (although a lot of it is through the radiator). My point is that at speed, there is so much air being forced into the...

    Eclipse vs. Mustang

At the risk of sending this thread further down a tangent... Buying American is not "hogwash." Buying a foreign car that was partially built in America is only half-good. The final profits still go to the foreign country. American car dealers also have American workers with American kids and...

    CAI's in the rain

ummm, the CAI on the 05 is up pretty high. If you hit a puddle big enough to submerge it you probably ran into a lake, not a puddle. What about all those 60's muscle cars with open element air filters? Water never got around the hood and onto the filter. For the engine to hydro-lock you'd...

What Can i do next / Need more power ;)

    Opinions: Mustang's worst feature

only 3 complaints 1) Drive by wire throttle lag 2) Keys hit my right knee and 3) its only got 4.6 liters... it needs at least one more liter! (but I still love it!)

Modding Your '05 In California is AGAINST THE LAW! Anti-Masculinist Facists!

I just heard on the news today that starting in 2006 Los Angeles is planning on cracking down on vehicles that pollute. They are going to start putting the emission sensors on freeway on-ramps and if you are a gross polluter it will snap a pic of your license plate and they'll send you a...

Pic requested white 05 with bullitts

Unless the polished rims have a clear coat I'd avoid them. I've had several vehicles with polished aluminum rims and it's a pain in th a$$ to keep them looking good. Just my .02.

Modding Your '05 In California is AGAINST THE LAW! Anti-Masculinist Facists!

Do you know of anyone in the recent past that has had their vehicle "taken" because of mods? I don't think so. It can be impounded for street racing, and I think if you're busted selling drugs in it (that may have changed), but not just for mods. Read my previous post. I got popped for loud...

2 black gt manuals at msrp in socal

have a look at the window sticker... yup, MSRP. They are about 10 minutes from me. I checked a few different dealers in this area in April when I found mine, and several lots had GT's in stock willing to sell at MSRP (even though they didn't stay on the lot more than a day or two). I got mine...

Modding Your '05 In California is AGAINST THE LAW! Anti-Masculinist Facists!

I live in CA and I've never heard of someone getting a vehicle taken away for mods... sure, we get fix-it tickets... I just got one for loud pipes on my Harley. We CAN mod legally, but the parts need a CARB number. Since this is a new vehicle, I suspect we'll start seeing smog legal headers...

    Keys hit my knee

I didn't realize the title would rhyme until I was done typing it... Anyway, is anyone else annoyed by the fact that when the key is in the ignition it dangles down and rests on your right knee? It's not like I carry a bunch of keys, I only have the Mustang key, alarm, and 2 other keys on the...

    2003 Cobra's Valued higher than 2005 GT..

the value of a car is what people will pay for it, not what blue book says. I'd bet if you sold an 05 GT with 5-10K on it you'd still get close to MSRP... I don't have any false hope of my 05 retaining that kind of value for very long though...
