    Yea, was just wondering if anyone has seen a bad HB that wasn't obvious under all conditions. For sure, won't hurt to check it. Sometimes you have to verify things that are good before you can pinpoint what isn't.

    So, just to be clear, normally, your car runs and idles fine (minus the chirping, rattling, and whining)? No rough idle or surge? This was the first time the car died on you? I had a bad dizzy that made my car die at red lights and tough to start sometimes. Thats an expensive fix though.

    Adam, you sure about that harmonic balancer? He said he's getting it at WOT. If the harmonic balancer was bad you would know even at idle. I had a piece come off one time, and the whole car was shaking.

    Yea, I read it as noise while driving, then engaged the clutch and it went away. Just read it again and saw at idle.

    Did you just get your car out of storage or something? Or have you been pulling parts off and cleaning, etc?? If so, what have you done? You are having way too many problems all at once.

    Did you check the port that the EGR goes into on the intake? You can get a significant amount of buildup there.

    94, not sure where you are located, but if you have to get your car inspected and they hook it to a sniffer to check your emissions, you might fail, especially if they look for NOx. The EGR reduces NOx and pinging.

    Maybe U-joints. I had a chirp that would go away when I pressed the clutch. Replaced U-joints and it went away for good. Whoops, just read you adjusted clutch and it went away.

    exhaust rubbing gas tank...concerned

    I had the same problem when i switched to a MAC cat back. Yes, its a cover. I guess it depends on how much has melted away. Does it rattle agaist the upper control arm? I just took off the tail pipes. Don't know if that is legal though.

    Could be the syncros. Does it ever happen when you are not moving, say at a stop light, when you are trying to put it in first? If so, throw it in 5th, then work your way down to first. Should slide right in.
