    suspension questions

Sounds like you need an alignment, especially after all the suspension work done to the car. That's the probably cause of your wander. As for only one side rubbing, that side could have more caster and has the tire closer to the front fender opening. Another possibility is its a classic...

    Wheel size and back spaceing

What diameter rim do you want to use? 14, 15, 16, 16, 17, or 18s? You can easily fit a 9" wide rim in the back with approx. 5.5" of backspacing. A 275 tire will also fit on the 9" wide rim. Might want to view the Wheel chart at dodgestang.com/mustang for more info.

    Shelby drop and Springs?!

You have heard correctly... Lowering your upper control arms 1" on the shock towers will NOT result in a 1" lower ride height. I noticed at most a 1/4" drop in ride height.

Wheel database - why not more entries?

Of course I do... But you got those 17" rims with 4.75" of backspacing. I had to do it with 16" rims and only 4.5" backspacing, a much more difficult task.

    Shelby drop and Springs?!

Your upper control arm will hit the bump stop (assuming you still have one in good shape after 40 years) before ball joint bind will occur with a 1" drop of the upper control arms. So, with a bump stop in good shape you will not have any issues using a lowering spring.

Wheel database - why not more entries?

Dodgestang, I have a new submission for the charts :) 16x8 (4.5" backspacing) with 245 45 ZR16s that fit completely inside the wheel wells (not even close to sticking out) Even got photos to prove it :) Of course the explanation is lengthy, but the setup works... and I have Opentracker to...
