    Compression Ratio too much?

yeh like they all said. generally 10:1 on iron heads is the limit and a switch to aluminum heads can do 11:1 on pump gas.

Steel input shaft retainer; needs shims?

like they all stated above, the shim is there to setup the endplay. so you need to measure it and shim it correctly or your gonna have problems, I'll have to check my books tonight when I get home but you'll need at least 2 or 3 thousands endplay.

    valves question

96 explorer motor is non forged but has reliefs. the performers are 1.90/1.60 valves, so you'll be fine with the e303. your problem is going to be you said you ordered the stud mount heads yet your factory rockers are pedestal mount, so you will have to buy a new set of stud mount rockers...

    PCV Capped off...why?

heres the deal, the hose from the TB to the filler neck was rerouted off the TB to the inlet of the blower air box because if it was left stock the pressurized air inside the TB would go into the valve cover pressurizing the crank case causing all kind of problems. the PCV valve itself could be...

    36lb injector hp??? with FMU???

36lbers are good to about 500hp. but I wouldn't put them on till you get that kind of power or it will run pig rich. and an fmu doesnt make power, the blower does, a s-trim could add from 100-300hp depending on motor mods, and the fmu just raises fuel pressure via the boost level to add the...

    Underdrive pullies? Yes or No

most street type 3 pulley setups are worth 7-8hp. they are cheap and work great. make sure you get aluminum type, the steel ones are heavy and the less rotational weight of the aluminum ones give you a little extra hp.

    Speedo correction

got my info from the texas mustang parts catolog. even the steeda site says 90-95 oem t-5 have the 8 tooth drive gear for the 5speeds. basically look in the tranny to see which color drive gear you got. if your speedo reads high by 10mph at 55mph with a 21 tooth then a 23 tooth would...

My stang is too loud... Exaust setup questions

2 chambers and an off road pipe are very loud, 3 chambers would keep the same sound but a little quieter, but super turbos would make it alot quieter, and the tone would change to a deaper throater sound. I've have all three mufflers and the dynomax super turbo is inexpensive, decent quality...

    Speedo correction

1983-98 auto and 89 and under 5 speeds use a 7 tooth drive gear so the correct 3.73 speedo gear is a 21 tooth red gear. 90 and up 5 speeds stepped up to the 8 tooth drive gear and need the 23 tooth white speedo gear for 3.73's so you have the correct speedo gear. are you sure you have...

bump steer kits, safe, strong enough for rr,street?

most kits come with straight bolts and they tell you to drill the spindle which I dont like. steeda's kit you dont have to drill them out, they supply a tapered stud which fits right in, and the price is decent. yes there are strong and safe for street and race. I got the steeda kit on my unit.

    Quick help!!!

you probably have some wires crossed. you dont need to do it warm. besy way is to remove all 8 spark plugs so motor turns over easily, install the compression tester and use the starter to turn it over a few revs then go to the next. disconnect the main coil wire when doing this.

I think you said your wanted to retard the e cam 4 deg?? dont bother, the e cam does not come with any adv built in, it is ground straight up or zero deg. most cams come with 4 deg adv built in and thats where the performance is, so if anything you need to adv it 4 deg. personally get rid of...

E303 cam advance off?? Any help? thanks

12:1 is rich for a n/a combo, 13.5 is where it should be. keep the 30lbers on there, just drop the pressure to reduce the fuel flow, 28-30 psi would be close. if your a/f ratio is stable across the rpm band then a chip would be a waste of $$, just use the fuel pressure and base timing to get...
