    Anti-theft "device"

there's a wiring diagram somewhere on here that will show you. Also, there is a good chance that these wires on your car (since its converted) are simply connected together inside the trans tunnel. Take a look and see what you find.

Installed bbk springs and still 5" wheel gap?

"It was really hard to swap the springs out because it seems that the control arms are binding and it wouldn't let the rear drop low enough. It also make a horrible creaking sound from all four control arms when the suspension is moved up or down. " Did you read this?

    Quarter window trim covers.

    dugan-racing.com has them for $300.

    Quarter window trim covers.

They are a complete waste of money. I paid about $75 and spent about 4-5 hours installing them and they still don't fit correctly. They are a hard plastic and do not fit flush over the original moulding. In addition, you have to use some crazy install methods to get them flush while the glue...

    Anti-theft "device"

Thought I'd pass along an idea I just finished on my car. I've read about a switch between the fuel pump for an anti-theft device but I have another version that others might like-especially AOD to T-5 conversion guys. Because the Neutral safety switch (NSS) on a AOD is no longer used on the...

    Another seat swap thread...

Your stock wiring is one power and one ground, use a test light (its hot ignition off). I'm not sure about 01 GT seats but they should have -one ground (black) -one wire that is smaller than the others for the seat belt warning -either one or two large power wires (same size as ground...

    New driveline vibration solution!

Buy power seats! I've been chasing driveline vibes down for some time and just recently made another small improvement by installing a set of 03 Cobra seats in my 91 Hatch. The driver's side is powered and the various connections and linkages in the seat mechanism isolated the remaining...

convert my eight mile to quarter.

I just read somewhere that you can multiply a 1/8th miles time by 1.51 for power adder cars and 1.55 for N/A cars and it seems pretty accurate the times I've used the equation.

    lug nut problems

For the security nuts you can use a socket that is slightly smaller than the lug nut and pound it on with a hammer, then use a ratchet to remove the nut. You'll probably have to use several sockets as they become fused with the lug nut. Also, don't hesitate to really pound the socket on as...

    Driveshaft vibe solution

I might have read that post, I've been looking at vibration posts for a while. My car was a classic example of the difficulty tracking down vibes because every thing was worn, I've replaced: -motor mounts -tranny mount -exhaust mounts -engine balancer -door/hatch/sunroof weatherstripping...

    Driveshaft vibe solution

I had the same vibration with the stock shaft as is, stock shaft rebalanced, used aluminum driveshaft and a new aluminum driveshaft. It appears to a consequence of having 4.10's. I followed a link here that said that 3.73's and above rear gears lower an inherent driveline vibe. (I've got 4.10's)

    Driveshaft vibe solution

I've been chasing various vibes and have drastically reduced most but still had the classic driveshaft vibe at 75 MPH. I bought a driveshaft balancer from balancemaster.com and installed it but it didn't work. All it did was change the sound/frequencyof the vibe. In addition, it has metal...

    Door striker information

I was unlucky with my first purchase. The "help!" section has several versions of the striker and when i bought mine there was only one option (Pepboys, I think) but Advance had several versions. The metric and standard versions have application overlaps so this is a head's up for future searchers.

    Door striker information

I replaced my door striker bolts last year and just discovered that there are two types/sizes of door striker bolts for Fords a metric and standard version, I bought the metric version last year. The correct type is 7/16"-14 (part- Help! #38448) and the part of the striker that "catches"...

    Leaky sunroof fix? (Surprise!)

Been chasing an apparent sunroof leak for awhile. Replaced the sunroof seal, checked the drain tubes, resealed the front plastic "cups/catches" for the sunroof, no luck. I thought maybe its the windshield. I was skeptical because the headliner was wet and the leak was collecting at the...

    Rear axle alignment (need opinions)

Both rear tires are square with one another its the entire rear axle is angled due to bent/torn torque boxes. I'd like to open this up for further discussion related to mysterious rear end vibrations. I've read hundreds of posts related to ridding vibrations from our cars but I'm really...

    Rear axle alignment (need opinions)

I just got the car (1991 Hatch 5 speed )aligned and found out that the rear axle is "out of toe" by 3/16." The torque boxes have been shredded and repaired but it appears that they were welded while still slightly bent. 1. Should I get adjustable upper and lower control arms in order to...

    MFE method WILL NOT WORK

Two floor jacks located front to back (parallel length-wise) with the car and the arm will not move sideways, the key is two floor jacks, I just used this method and had the same concerns and was very pleased with how easy the arm came down. Two floor jacks, front to back, lower alternately 1"
