New member, new to mustangs. maybe buying one tomorrow

I forgot some good ones, thanks guys. I hope we're not scaring you away....this thread makes our cars sound like they're nothing but problems haha. Fact is, I've had my foxbody for 10 years this summer and it has never left me stranded. I love it.

4.6 newb....im from the fox 5.0 side of stangnet

Geeze he got serious then huh? That's a sick car with big HP's. I took a 4 or 5 year hiatus from the Mustang scene to race motorcycles. It was an extremely expensive sport and I'm saving for a house, so the race bike was sold and now the stang is my main hobby focus once again lol. What...

4.6 newb....im from the fox 5.0 side of stangnet

I'm diggin' it Shawn! Lowering it definitely made it look much better. I remember the droptop and the old EFI coupe, but I missed all your other cars while I was away. I really like the gray notchback...thing was clean. What ever happened to Indyblack5.0?

Obviously rust is something too look for. Look under the lip of the hatch and the lip of the sunroof (if it has one). Inside lip of the doors is another common place. I've also heard the front strut towers can rust in extreme situations. Check for vibrations in the front end going down the road...

    Edelbrock performer rant

I have oil puddle problems with mine as well....but I'm not sure that most 5.0 intake don't. I've had mine for about 6 years and the only problem I've had is one of the studs going from the upper to the lower decided to turn on me while installing the upper...stripping the threads in the lower...

I'm having a new rearend built

Around $370 in labor but they said the labor would of been less if I hadn't of furnished my own parts.

I'm having a new rearend built

Ring and pinion are setup. Now I'm just waiting on the axles and studs to arrive. I'll probably update everything in my other thread.... http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/shes-whipped-back-into-shape-again-pics.850742/ One thing that concerns me...I have a DVD on how to re-build...

Fox Body VS 3rd Gen F-Body handling

The four-link on the back of the Mustang has always been the enemy (until '05 3-link). I'm not sure, but I think the Camaro's/Firebird's have always used a 3-link with a panhard bar??? If that's so....the Mustang can't compete "stock for stock" with that. The four link, even with spherical...

Bent axle on 5 lug conversion

You need an axle shaft from a Ford Ranger. The axles in the SN95 are longer than standard fox axles. You can only use one side from the Ranger's but I'm not sure which. Pulling the axle is easy. Pull the diff cover, remove the pin bolt, pull out the pin, push in the axle a little bit, remove the...

    head gasket question

Yes those are head gaskets part numbers. I believe my local Advance Auto has all of those in stock. I would look there before ordering through the mail, save yourself on some shipping.

Completion pics/walk around video of my 89 notch.

Sounds like another import driver joining and describing himself.....*YAWN* What really cracks me up is 99% of them don't even have the balls to come back and spar a little bit, they just leave a short comment and run away like a little girl.

    Building a 69/70 351W block w/9.48" deck height

I'll have to keep that in mind when I'm ready to machine mine. I seemed to have misplaced the main caps over the years so hopefully my machinist will be able to align-hone some different ones  . My machinist is a big 351w Ford guy and I seem to remember him blocking or re-routing some oil...

    video: 12.63 sec @ 111.69 mph for a stock 2011 Mustang 5.0L

No water box? And LOL at the pro stock burnout. 111 mph can get you very low 12's with some good suspension and cheater slicks!

1990 GT, R block stroker, PTK, 88mm Turbonetics, Street Car Build

I will throw a tire iron in your general direction if you do that :D Seriously though, I come to this thread every time it's updated. Who can resist a thread with "stroker" and "turbo" in the title?!?!? Oh, and here's my favorite twins.

    lower intake gasket?

Yeah mine were torqued to a whopping 19lb-ft in the proper sequence and they REALLY went to hell on me. It's no secret these gaskets fail, I have a nice collection of pictures.

    New ball joints question

Make sure you have the ball joint fully seated. Did you clean up the A-arm real nice before installing the new ones? I installed new ball joints on my F150 last year and they were stiff and had memory steer. Turns out I needed to remove some rust to get the new ball joints seated properly.

    Building a 69/70 351W block w/9.48" deck height

I'm bored so I figured I would create this thread for those who are seeking to build a stroker motor out of an early 351w block. Feel free to add any additional info. The first two years of the 351 windsor was '69 and '70. These blocks featured a deck height of 9.48" and are considered the...
