    Help me spend $800

if you want to work on your suspension, i'd get some new shocks/springs if you want to get more power, i'd get some 4.10's, short shifter, plenum, (and if you have anything leftover) pulleys and a t/a. ** edit - oops, you said you wanted to wake up the car...ignore the suspension stuff

    coilovers

I'm thinking about going with a coilover setup. I already have tokico 5 way's and would prefer not to buy new shocks. I noticed x2cmotorsports has a kit for $200 (front) and $200 (rear). Does anyone have any experience with this kit, or can anyone else recommend a kit that would work with the...

    C&L plenum

the install wasn't bad...it took me about 30 mins and I was taking my time. I'm definitely going to be going with an Accufab 75mm TB and a C&L Trueflow pipe in the near future...

    C&L plenum

I installed my C&L plenum a couple of days ago. I had clearance issues with the vacuum line in the back and the throttle cable but I fixed it up. The throttle cable is still rubbing up against the vacuum line a little bit, but it's nothing major. That's just about my only complaint. The...

    C&L Plenum Install Question.......

i'm having the same problem on my car...the throttle cable got stuck on the vacuum line this morning and I ended up redlining my car for 2 seconds :bang: I just moved the vacuum line over the throttle cable and it looks like the throttle cable is no longer getting stuck on it. Is this a...

    Cobra owners get in here

That's weird...there's still quite a few '03's around here. I'd check in neighboring states too if I were you...saving a few grand is always worth the drive. You might want to also check out svtperformance.com...i'm sure those guys can help you out some more.

    Cobra owners get in here

yup...i was looking at getting a corvette before I got a great deal on my GT, but anyways....CA dealers were going maybe 1-2k off MSRP for a C5. I contacted a few out of state dealers who were easily willing to go 5-7k off MSRP (which translates to invoice or slightly below). I also briefly...

    Cobra owners get in here

yeah...maybe it's just LA, but when I was car shopping early this year, I went to Ford, Chevy, BMW, and a few others...all of them seemed to be charging a bit more than what forum members out of state were saying they were paying for the same car. And no, it's not my negotiation skills (at...

    Cobra owners get in here

i guess that depends on where you live...cars are generally more expensive in CA and NY. 35k would probably be a pretty good deal here in LA...

    lower control arm install question

sorry, very dumb question, but I'm pretty new to working on cars... Am I supposed to be able to remove the control arm pivot bolts without an impact wrench? I've been going at it for a while but they won't budge. If I need an impact wrench, which auto parts stores loan them out (if any)?

    Any drawbacks?

i'm sure most GT drivers here will disagree with me...but I'm getting sick of the rear suspension. If I had to do it all over again, I'd spend more and get a cobra and enjoy IRS once again... quality has been pretty good so far, and I haven't had to take my car back yet (my car has 9000...

    Prochamber in Cali?

yeah, x pipes are more raspy, and h pipes are more burbly. I love my magnaflow catted x and catback... If you really want that burble, I'd go with some L/T's and a catted H...I think BBK makes both.

    Prochamber in Cali?

i heard it was a $1k fine...don't quote me on that though. I have a friend here that's been running an offroad X for a while (about 3 years I think), and he's been pulled over a few times for speeding and for having a loud exhaust  , but never got in trouble for his midpipe...

    Bird Crap + Paint = Pi$$ed

actually if you left it on for a few hours and you look close up you can see the damage...you can basically see the outline of where it landed... if your car is black, you'll see it a lot more than if your car is white.

    4:10s and 245's traction?

I have stock tires but haven't taken it to the track yet. Traction is a bit rough...you'll definitely get your tires to spin pretty easily in 1st-3rd gear if you get on it. LCA's are on their way, and I'll probably get new tires sometime next year :D
