contact me if you want to pick up a second steel driveshaft instead, i got one and i can probably get ahold of another or two.
aluminum went up to 250-260 but you can get a strange chromoly shaft for like 199.99
i'd probably go with 70 or 75mm, if you plan on getting turbo, s/c later on go with 75.
i still run stock tb/egr myself, not a huge power difference, but a definite throttle response.
Pro M might have some chrome style maf's, but i prefer c&L.
I'm pretty sure the stage 2 wont clear the stock pistons. so if you want to notch them some more you can. just take like a die grinder or a dremel to em.
255lph pump
76 c&l mass air w/elbow
24's or 30's
a AFPR if you don't have one (Kirban)
whatever brand tb you want
here is an old pic of my motor, the coolant holes are 2 on each head, on each end. i'd put some rtv on each lower intake gasket, to hold it in place around the ports. then put some rtv w/ a healthy amount on each water port, then put some like i was saying on the block, you can see the first...
you need to put rtv around the water jackets ( the holes that don't have valves in them) on the heads, and instead of using the front and rear cork gasket for the lower intake to block, you should put some high temp rtv on the block (where those small strip gaskets went) the whole length and let...
Thanks for the info, Michael. I will definitely check into one of these when my new combo goes together.
your car looks sweet. the upper intake on your car looks like it was welded. or am i just seeing things?
when i had gears installed my stock driveshaft was rusted a ton but it was one of the joints on it. so i got a aluminum unit for 170 put on. i think these steel shafts rust as soon as they are put on the cars, donchya think?
guys, how much is that oil cooler from ford? would it be a good one to use with a turbo kit?? I'm gonna be putting one on the car this year, probably a T76GTS.
This is a decent thought, but in the same theory, the driveshaft would also be out of balance if you spray painted it cause i believe the paint would have more weight to it. i think the real reason is the joints simply go bad on the shaft and need replacement.
