    clutch recommendations

    Call up Walt at Promotion Powertrain... Very good guy and he set me up with my McLeod unit.. He said the clutch/PP is good for ~550 - 600hp and I'm still able to slip the clutch enough that I can start moving without giving it any gas.. Pedal effort is a bit heavier than stock. Riley

    Yes, this is normal. Timing is based off of load. As you load up the car timing will decrease. If you rev the car while parked there is no load on the car and the timing can be advanced quite a bit. Riley

    I bought a clutch from Walt and it's great!! Walt kept telling me that he recommended the 26 spline input shaft for over 400HP.. In fact I ordered the 10 spline clutch disc and he sent me the 26 instead.. :rlaugh: Riley

    Holding the engine up

    I got a piece of 4x8 board the size of the bottom of the oil pan and used a jackstand. Don't use the jackstand directly on the bottom of the pan though as you WILL bend it and/or punch a hole in it.. I've left it that way for a good 2 months and there are no signs of bending on the pan. Riley
