    StangNet '11 5.0 Notch Project

I stop by and read once in a while Mike. Seeing this gave me a whole bunch of new ideas for the notch. Keep up the good work. Wondering how that new 5.0 would do with some turbo boost.....

    Scored a deal. Pics

You always seem to score great deals like this. I'm good boys... Car still sits under the car cover waiting for the day I can get back to it. House and family have taken way to much of my time and money to even think about the car.

    TrickFlow head questions....

The original trick flow heads were pedestal mount. They also ruined valve guides left and right. Making them ped. mount only solved the problem. There is a reason they don't sell them as pedestal mounts anymore. Track heats are standard TW's with upgraded springs, and no emissions ports.

Driveshaft vibration after rear gear swap

They almost always vibrate after a gear change. It should be a "pre-requisit" sp? to purchase a aluminum DS with you gears. That will solve your problem. Give th eshaft a spin to the next hole, or 180* and see what happens.

    What wrong with this.. (pics)mustang

Well, you have verified that it is not a problem with your rockers/valvetrain then. I guess you could do a leakdown test and see what happens. Shame you have to keep throwning money at headgaskets trying to fix this. Get that head checked to see if it's straight or not. I guess if it's...

Can I reuse head gaskete? Motor has NOT been started...

Do yourself a favor and get new ones now. That way when you put it all together, you won't be back here asking why it is spewing white smoke all over the garage. Then you have to tear it all down again... Not fun.

    700hp 351w 69 block or 94 roller block

Go with the 69 block. There are a lot of people who will tell you the late model blocks are strong enough but I disagree. I've been one of the un-lucky people to break one, and it cost me a LOT of money in the long run.

    What wrong with this.. (pics)mustang

Just FYI, the standard fel-pro 9333pt-1 gasket you get at autozone has a compression thickness of .047 The trickflow gasket has a compression thickness of .036 I believe.

    What wrong with this.. (pics)mustang

This doesn't matter. The firing order of the 5.0 HO motors are the exact same as a 351w order. That will not make a difference. You need to do a compression test with the rockers off. Don't worry, it will work. Air will get into the cylinders and it will give you compression numbers...

Joe, looks good man. You can send those old wheels to me if you want. Just as long as they don't come with any little rubber bears and a can of engine paint.

    10 sec build, help needed.

You need to realize that if you take 2 equal engines, one turbo, one supercharged. Both systems are made to make lets say 15psi. The supercharger will make 5 psi @ 2500rpm, 10psi @5000rpm, and 15@6500rpm. The turbo will make probably ~10psi @2500rpm, 15psi by 3k, and it will hold 15 psi...

Why spend $250 on 3g when I can spend $150?

Does the PA kit also come with wireing, connectors etc? Have you priced decient 4 gauge wire lately? Last time I did it was $2 or so a foot. If your putting in a 3G alt, your also going to need to upgrade the wireing. Maybe the PA kit has this included?

    10 sec build, help needed.

Honestly, I think you need to do a little research about turbos before posting up a bunch of miss-information. Turbo cars actually use more streetable cams, and boost will not fall off(unless your using the wrong turbo for you rapplication). etc... I could go on for days... But then again...

    10 sec build, help needed.

Personally, with the type of questions your asking, you rnot ready to build a 10 second car. I think you need to re-think your goals and start from there. It takes a lot more than just horsepower to run 10's, and not many people realize that. Your going to have to build one hell of a motor to...
