I have that exact motor in my 66 - from a 2003 Australian Falcon 5 speed. I used the complete Falcon ECU & wiring so everything works as Ford intended.
As it was a mannual I cant advise about the auto ECU however if Explorers came in mannual you might be able to buy an ECU from a mannual and...
Looking for a great front suspension that bolts to stock holes and can be fitted easily by a the average guy handy with a spanner ?
try www.rrs-online.com
I have several thousand miles up on an RRS power rack and their front struts which includes their own spindles. Steering and ride is excellent with no detectable bump steer. Installation was easy in a home workshop.

I have done a thousand miles on RRS struts and power rack. The struts were an absolute bolt- in on my 66, no drilling or fileing whatsoever.
The ride is excellent, just like a new car. I have their stage 5 kit with 17" wheels 4 -3/4" offset.
Another big plus is the ability to cut away...
The guy at Branda talked me into a fibreglass frame shelby hood as he said they were best. quality was good except for the cowl end which was flat instead of curved.
Horrors - 3 months after the hood was painted and on the car it has developed slight irregularities, like shallow dents across...
Are all the new convertible top lift cylinders the same brand ?
I want to buy a top quality pair for my 66 and dont know if all the suppliers are selling the same units.
Any advice appreciated.

I got mine from Mustangs plus and the fit was awfull, lots of work to make the parts fit properly. I have not had problems with anything else from Muatangs plus but i would try elsewhere for f'glass bits in future to try for better quality.

Sorry dont have pics of inside, it has no baffles instead it has a 'swirl pot' which is a metal box built around the efi pump pickup. The return fuel line discharges into the box alongside the pickup line which has a filter on it.
I simply duplicated exactly what was inside the Falcon fuel...
This one is in my 66, its made of stainless steel and has an in tank fuel pump for EFI. Any good sheet metal worker can make such a tank out of any metal you choose (aluminum, steel), just give him your origional tank and say copy it.

Congratulations, its great to see some new concepts being developed that 'spice up' the lovely lines........bit like a georgeous body in a new dress.
How about treating us to a series of 'new dresses' for our love affairs.

I used the whole harness after removing the wires for the trunk solenoid, fuel cap, speaker wires (installed an aftermarket stereo) cabin lights and a few others which wernt needed.
I installed the falcon dash to use all the switches and guages, also used the falcon wiper motor. was easy to...
I have installed a complete wiring harness from a 2003 Falcon into my 66. This enables all the electrics in a modern car to be put in a restomod.
The wiring is all hidden. I am no auto electrician and It can be done, just requires lots of patience.
