What's a good performing all-season tire for the stang?

I've run Continental ContiExtreme Contacts up here in NH for 2 years. They get me through the snow fine even with 3.90 gears. Thank god for Traction Control though. The only thing I'm disappointed with is their treadwear. They're under 20K miles and I'll need to replace them this winter...

    Waxes

I use Klasse AOI followed by P21S pure carnuba. It looks freakin awesome. Get complements all the time and people don't belive my car is 4 years old daily driver and sees new england winters. See my garaage pics. Klasse and P21S are expensive, but a little goes a long ways so it'll last...

    New Shifter Question

I've had the MGW in my car for over a year. I love it. If by "notchy" you mean it feels like it "clicks" into gear, then.... well, it's supposed to do that. At least with our tranmissions. I have driven cars with trannys that slip into gear with an effortless, buttery-smooth feel, but...

Bullitt and Mach1 owners check these out.

Those look good! Not a bad price either. I wish someone would make an overlay of some sort for the GT gauges that would give them the retro Mach 1 font/look.

    will a stock 5.0 beat a stock 4.6?

For what it's worth: my then-brand-new 1987 Mustang GT ran a best time of 14.6 in the quarter mile back in July of 1987. (Still have the timeslip around somewhere....)

    Weld in Flowmasters (Which Ones???)

Then you want an H-pipe, not an X. X's are generally raspier, H's are deeper-throatier. I'm thinking about a MAC off-road H on mine.

    Weld in Flowmasters (Which Ones???)

I've got the "Super" 40s welded into stock pipes on my car. They are decently loud, but nothing like a car with an H or X pipe. Probably twice as loud as stock at idle and under moderate throttle -- but a lot louder at high RPM. The "Flowmaster drone" isn't bad. Mostly exists between...

losing interest in the GT: am i missing something?

If you like cornering, you'll HATE the GTO. I drove a co-workers GTO a few times. Yeah, it's fast as all get out, but it handles like a cow. I scared the crap out of myself the first time I tried to take a fast corner in it. A corner that I've comfortably taken "hot" a few times in my...

    K&N Air cleaner performance kit?

I got 3rwhp from my FIPK Dyno'd before and after. Worth it? No for HP gains, but yes for looks if that concerns you. As was stated above you'll do just as well HP wise, by just throwing in a K&N drop-in filter and taking out the air silencer.

    2002 gt

I gotta agree with those above. I have the K&N FIPK cai and was able to dyno before and after. It gave me 3 rwhp for $150. The ONLY reason to get a CAI is for the look -- if you only want the performance, just install a K&N drop-in filter.

School me on performance driving, cause I suck at it.

 OMG! That's hysterical! <bows to DocG2828> Can I use it in my sig?

How much will my speedometer be off installing my 3.90 gears?

It should read roughly 20% high. 40mph actual = 48mph displayed 60mph = 72 75 mph = 90 And your odometer wil be clicking over 20% faster -- if you drive 50 miles, your odometer will say you went 60.

    "boss" style hood stripes

Anyone know where to get 1970 "Boss" style hood stripes for the 99-04 GT? I'm looking for the parts that go along the rocker panel, up the fenders and across the back edge of the hood. I don't need the center racing stripe.

    BEEF JERKY

Alton Brown is a GOD and has a very cool recipe for jerky. And he doesn't use any special dehydrators, just a box fan and a couple of filters. It sounds weird reading it, but if you can catch the episode on TV, it makes much more sense whne you see it. Alton Brown's Beef Jerky By the way...

Installed Accufab w/ 70 MM TB

Doubtful. The difference between any CAIs is only a couple of hp. And the whole "heatsoak" idea has never been demonstrated that I'm aware of. As I said in another thread, think about how much air moves through your CAI's intake pipe and how fast it's moving and then tell me if you think...

What are some good performance tires?

My car's an all-year round driver and sees occasional snow which means dedicated good-weather tires like the Nitto's are right out. I got Continental ContiExtreme Contacts. They seem to be about the top-rated high-performance tire that is also good in snow. I like them. Very good dry and wet...
