    Basic Turbocharger question

This could be could be misleading to someone that does not fully understand turbo's. I know it was for me. Although RPM is a factor, it has more to do with engine load than engine speed. You could have that same given RPM and have no boost if the engine is not under a load, ie flooring it up...

    Best exhaust for 2.3

I tried several different combos on my N/A Ranger in the search for sound and power, by far the best was a DeltaFlow dumped. You add a tailpipe you change the sound. Even a SS Dynomax dumped sounded like a deep 6.

    Adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

I would hold off on the regulator and the coils if your Ford ones are working. The dual spark DIS is a wonderful system as it is, just add good plugs and wires. As ka0tyk mentioned, get some air flow happening, with a cam too if you like. These Fords run pig rich after 3 grand anyway...

    what trans?

C-3 up to 86 A4LD 87-88 Aside from weak mainshaft the A4LD really benefits from a good Torque converter, as with most auto's. I wouldn't take one drag racing but I think if one really wanted auto & OD for the street, you could achieve it with carefull rebuilding. Most shops do the...

    what trans?

I'm using a C4 truck trans with low first, shift kit and reworked torque converter. No overdrive is a drawback but I'm using tall gears in the rear so 60 mph cruising is not a prob. Nothing wrong with a good auto, it just has to be built right. These little pinto converters are great...

Okay, how do I tune this damn DPDIS?

I had this occasionally with my DIS Ranger but it seemed to be related with air temp for me. Hot humid days would do it with cheap reg gas but I ran next grade up 89 and it solved it. Don't know what to suggest, maybe unhook battery for a few minutes. You have an open air filter in the engine...

    Low End Question

James Duff have a 4cyl truck header and I believe Hooker did too. All long tube. The Ford Ranger header is SS tube and a compromise but better than the old csat iron manifold.

    Low End Question

Well maybe you need to dyno your car and then change back to the Ranger header and see the difference on paper cause your long tube will produce more torque at any rpm. The reason Ford made a shorty was because of the O2 sensor location. They wanted the sensor close to all primaries and close...

    Low End Question

"long tube headers rob low end torque because the exhaust pulses are very long" Where did you get that info? Long primaries = torque Short = higher rpm power

    Mechanical temp guage

The EEC does not get any reading from the gauge sensor! The EEC water temp sensor is in the intake manifold.

    TC rear in a mustang?

It is the axles 3/4" longer for the ABS ring. If you want to use the shorter axles you have to cut the TC disc brake bracket off and buy the offset brackets.

    Low End Question

Get a long tube header and stay with 2" pipe then.

    Mechanical temp guage

yes. drivers side under the intake. no check engine light.

    Mechanical temp guage

Since the factory gauges are crap, I put my sender right in the side of the block where factory hole is. Some people don't like the factory gauges unhooked but if they don't mean anything, why not? I use mechanical oil and water temp

    Intercooler???

I would get/make a big scoop, mount it directly to IC and get a glass hood with a hole cut in it for the scoop. You'd have a shaker hood with very good intercooling and no IC piping.

A4ld Tranny Guttless On Hills! Help!

Well when I kickdown mine going uphill I notice the speed slows down too, so what I do is leave it in OD and lug it. If the converter stays locked you will actually be able to pick up speed depending on grade. The motor has plenty of torque down low. Maybe a converter problem? P.S. Too...

    lambo doors

Well there are no rules when it comes to custom, but I don't know if I would do that to a Mustang. Fox cars are like an institution, if you step out of bounds you are going to get criticism.

    Balancing the Engine...Questions

The engine and crank are already balanced but if you want to go to 8000 rpm spend some money on rods, and remove rev limiter that's all you need
