    They actually recommend a minimum octane rating of 87 for the GT. They recommend 87 for the V6 and the Ecoboost. You lose HP using 87 octane (35 HP in the Ecoboost). The 435 hp rating in the GT came with 91 octane. You will lose 1% of the HP rating using 87 octane.
