Well, I'm depressed as hell now...

Well brought the block and pistons/rods home yesterday. They had to bore three cylinders another .010 over to get them to clean up. I should have it back in the car and running in the next week or so. So with the machine work, 3 new pistons and a gasket set, I should be good to go again...

I recommend classic auto glass in saskatoon, they do good work and they're fairly reasonable as far as price goes.

Well, I'm depressed as hell now...

I was thinking I had coolant leaking into the oil some how, thinning the oil out and causing the wrist pin to lock up. I pull the motor today and took the pan off. On a couple of the rod the small end looks like its been blued from heat. I found metal filings in the pan and it looks like...

Well, I'm depressed as hell now...

Went for a drive today and the motor developed a knock/rattle. Dammit!!! Pulled the valve covers and listened to the valvetrain, nope...bottom end...Dammit!!! Drop the oil, hmmm...looks pretty green for being changed yesterday. Well I pulled a couple rod caps, they look fine. Wiggled the...

    87-93 front sub under a 66 mustang?

Sure, almost anything is possible, if you have the time, skills and equipment. I think in one of the mustang rags they put in a macpherson strut front end. Can't remember if it was Mustang Monthly or what. It does involve cutting and welding on both frames so do your research and be...

how do i convert to serpentine???

Depending on what accessories you're running, it may not be as simple as just going and getting a 5.0L mustang set of pulleys and just using the ones you want. This is because you need a proper belt path to ensure you have traction on all your pulleys. I think geostang is on the right...

    Got new tires today! (pics)

My tires came in today. They're Dayton Daytona SRs 215/60/R14 front and 235/50R14 rear. I had them mounted on the Keystone mags I got at the wreckers a couple weeks ago. A little polishing and wire brushing and they look decent. I think the new tires and rims really set it off:

    AOD Swap help

I think its possible to mate the engine trans with the engine bolted down. I just dropped both in at the same time because I already had both of them out of the car. You could try threading some short pieces of all thread into the block to use as guides while you line the trans up. Other...

    AOD Swap help

When I did mine I dropped the motor/trans in together without the crossmember. I set it down on the motor mounts, then I put a floor jack under the trans and bolted in the crossmember. Afterwards I installed the headers. I had to jack up the motor a few inches to get the headers in, was a...

I'll try again!!! 5.4 (mod, no 331 pushrod strokers)

I would love to see one of these in a old mustang: The cammer is back! As for the actual swap, I would think the major problems you will have are: 1)Engine fitment-should be fixed with an aftermarket front clip, may need a hole in the hood... 2)Electronic- ignition, transmission...

    AOD Swap help

It depends on what kind of linkage you're going to use to move the lever. I have a cable operated floorshift in mine and I have the lever pointing down. My cable runs rearward from the shifter, through a hole in the floor under the drivers seat and then up to the lever. You could use the...

    Best Carb to buy?

I hang around the Fordmuscle forums quite a bit, and I have heard nothing but good things about BIGS carburetors. I think if you drop them an email they will custom build you a Holley. Contact info is here: http://www.jason.fletcher.net/bigs/
